Nadine wipes off the tears from her eyes, but she couldn't stop crying. It was more painful to see her husband injured this bad for saving his wife and kids. She gently stroke his big ears slowly. "Elliot....am I that bad as a wife and mother?" She asked.

"No..." Elliot said with a cough... "You're... p-p... pe" he tried to say, but all that came out was... "Eughh..." as he fainted.

"Elliot? ELLIOT!!!" Nadine screamed after her poor beloved husband weakly fainted as if he had died. "Ellie...." She whimpered, she cover her big eyes and continues to sob again. Suri and the boys watch as their heartbroken mother crying. "This is all my fault! If only I hadn't...." Suri said, but Oliver cover her mouth before Nadine heard what Suri was going to say. Nadine stop crying and look at the kids. "Hadn't what?" She asked not understand what her daugther meant. Suri shoved Oliver back and quietly agrue with him. It was time for Suri to confess the truth. She wasn't always the typical one to get into trouble...it was more like Hazel's job to do that.
"Mom....I'm the reason why we left. We were.....we were trying to...I mean......" Suri nervously stammered. "We wanted to find your parents and talk to them!"
"You WHAT?!" Nadine cried. Unbelieviable....she thought. It was Suri's first time being into trouble, but she didn't know how to deal this out clamly. "I'm sorry mother....I didn't mean for this to happen. I thought...."
"You thought WRONG!!!" Nadine yelled at her heading towards her angerily. "How could you do this? Putting your brothers' lives in danger?! We risk our tails to come out and save you! And your father.....he......" Nadine continue yelling, but stop when she got to bringing Elliot's name into the scene. "He......if it hadn't been for him.....we wouldn't be here...alive." She said sadly, her ears drooping down slowly. Her eyes begin to get waterly again. "Elliot...." She whimpered to herself covering her face to cry again.

"Nadine..." Boog said softly... "Would you like me to take the kids somewhere else?" he asked. He could see that Nadine was in no condition to have the fawns getting on her nerves and that all the emotional stress she has undergone over the past couple of days was getting to her...

"I...."Nadine was going to say to Boog, but Oliver interrupted. "Ma...don't blame Suri. She doesn't derseve to get into trouble. We wanted to meet our grandparents we never even knew." He said. Nadine look at Suri. "Is that true?" She asked her. Suri nodded her head slowly, blaming herself with guilt. Nadine sighed. "Kids, I'm sorry but.....you can't get to California. It's too dangerous to travel alone out there...you won't be able to make it out alive."
"But Mom.....weren't you worried how your parents felt after you left....without telling them goodbye?" Suri spoke up. Nadine notice that she made a point. She wish she had the guts to go back to her folks and aplogize for leaving without saying a word, but it was too late to go back and change that. Nadine sadly turn and walk away, giving herself some time alone.

As Nadine walked on for a bit of alone time, Boog quickly picked up... "Alright kids, uncle Boog's gonna take care of ya for a while, your mom wants some time alone to think..." he said

Nadine walked off as she was not too far off from Boog and the others. She sat down alone by herself thinking to herself.....thinking, what would happen if Nadine never became a deer in the first place? But then again, her life wouldn't so complete without Elliot and the kids would had never been born. Soon, she begin to find herself cry again. "Elliot....I wish you were here with me. I can't survive without you." Just then, the clouds begin to get gloomy and dark. Lighting struck...loud and hard. Frighten, Nadine ran off, but went to the wrong direction. Soon she found herself lost but luckily found a cave to hide in. It was smelly and old, but was fit enough to stay to keep away from the lightning. Soon, it begin to sprinkle.

"Oh man, looks like we got a storm brewing up..." Boog said, "We better get your mom..." he continued, picking elliot up and slinging him over his shoulder... "C'mon kids!" he said...

Hazel was still weak and was shivering cold from that rough battle with the hunter in the lake, so Oliver helps up his twin brother get to his feet a little. Nolan steps in and decides to help carry Hazel on his back. He picks up Hazel letting him to rest while Oliver went ahead and follow Arwin, Suri and the others.
"I hope mom's okay...." Suri said to Boog. She felt terribly bad for getting all the guilt rush to her head.

"I'm sure she will be. You just have to imagine this stuff from her point of view. All this stuff she's been hiding is suddenly being uncovered and she feels like you hate her. Nothing's easy for anybody right now..." Boog said as they walked along. They reached the point where they thought Nadine was, but no doe. "Hang on a sec..." the grizzly said... "Where'd she go?!" he cried, looking around frantically.

"Hate her? Why would she think that?" Suri thought to herself. She couldn't picture herself being in her own mother's shoes....or hooves whatever way you look at it. Keeping secrets wasn't the best thing to hide for a long time, but Suri did felt pretty bad for Nadine when Boog told her that. When they came to the spot where she was missing, Arwin spoke up. "She can't be that far. Let's track her down." He said to big bro using his nose to find a scent.

"Got it." The kids agreed. Arwin took the north, Nolan took the east and Boog, along with the three kids, went to the west. They look high and low, from rock to log, but they haven't found a clue where Nadine run off too. "We better hurry before the weather gets worse." Said Oliver. Just then, Suri spots an old gloomy dark cave. "Look! Over there, I bet that's where Ma is!" Said Suri and heads straight towards the cave, and finds Nadine laying down all by her lomesome in the cold. Suri slowly move towards her. "Mom....are you okay?" She asked her. Nadine didn't answer. She turn to the other side, facing away from Suri.

"No, Suri-- wait!" Boog cried, but it was no use, little Suri carried on towards the cave... he soon heard the little fawn talking to someone with concern. "Oh.. she found Nadine!" the grizzly said to himself under his breath...

Nadine look back when Boog brought Hazel and Oliver into the scene. Suri begged Nadine to come back, but she wouldn't listen to her. "Leave me alone...." She grumble underneath her breath not looking at her own child in the face. Suri begin to worry. "Maybe Ma does hate me....what if it was my fault?" She thought to herself. Suri bow her head down sadly and turn away while she shed a small single tear from her eye. "It's no use uncle Boog....she won't listen to me."
