OMG! It's been an entire month the last time I updated. I am so terribly sorry guys! I may be having writers block or maybe it's cause of the days where I do things that keep me away from writing. Please bear with me if I can't update any faster on my fanfics. Here's the next chapter, but beware all you N/E fans! The end will probably cause trouble in the next chapter soon. Enjoy
Chapter 7: The Plan/Life's What You Make it
"You know what's more stickier than yak butter stuck in your fur?" Elliot said to Nadine and Boog later that evening as he was sitting in a small pond washing the sticky food off from his thick deer fur. "Sap! When you get hook to it, there's no stopping it. Did you know sap gets more stickier when it's dried?" He said.
He kept on talking as he was getting finish removing all the icky stuff from his fur. Nadine kept quiet, minding her own business. Boog try to ingore Elliot's long talk when he notice the poor girl was looking down. "Hey you okay buddy?" "No.....not really." Said Nadine, still looking down. "You're worry about your old pops aren't you?" He said. "It's not that. I'm worried how he's gonna react if I try going back." She said.
Boog patted her on the shoulder. "Don't worry Nadine. You got me and Elliot taking care of ya." Nadine nodded. "Yeah...I understand. Thanks Boog." She said with a small smile. The two of them said nothing after, but Boog wanted to get away from Elliot's annoying talk. Somehow, someway...there had to be a way to get away from him for a while. Just then, an acorn flew by and hit Boog behind the back.
"Pssst! Hey tiny!" Whispered a familar voice. Boog turn around and saw a familar face hiding in the bushes. "Reilly?" Reilly waved his arms panickly who happen to be in a hurry. "Boog!" He wave his arm, telling him he need to come with him for an emergency. "I'll right be there. Give me a minute." Whispered Boog. Reilly understood and hid back in the bushes.
Boog got up to his feet. "Uhh....can you excuse me for a minute?" He polietly ask Nadine. "Yeah sure." She said. Boog put his claws to his mouth whistling to call Elliot. Elliot finished cleaning up just in time as Boog called for him.
"What's up partner?" He said, rushing over to see what he needed. He followed Boog behind as the two walked away from Nadine quietly speaking in private. "I need you to do me a favor." Boog begin. "Reilly called me for an important emergency. Can you watch Nadine till I get back?" He asked.
Elliot thought he never heard those words before. A big grin grew brightly on his happy smirk face. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" He yelled in joy! Boog cover the mule deer's mouth. "SSSSHHHHHH!!! Quiet! We can't let Nadine know. It's just between us. Got it?"
"Between us?! Why can't we tell her?" Elliot asked not understanding why he wanted to keep this a secret from Nadine, whatever the important emergency was. "Cause.....she's a....." "A human?" Said Elliot, completeing Boog's last sentence. "Ummm....yeah. Not that I mean it in a bad way, but...." He try to say, but wasn't too good on how to explain this knowing how much this crazy deer friend of his like Nadine so much.
"Boogster....I never told you this before, but as a deer of my word, I can't hide things away from my love." He reply. "Elliot, she's not even your REAL love!" Cried Boog. "Hey! I believe love in first sight! I don't care what you or anyone thinks, but there's no way I can keep secrets away from her!"
Boog couldn't believe his ears. "Oh yeah? What's gonna happen if she finds out you're still crazy for Ian's girl? Then what?!" He said. That blew it. No matter how much he love Nadine a lot, Elliot forgotten about his old feelings for Giselle. He knew his partner made a good point. If Giselle and Nadine were to meet eye to eye, things would get ugly. He couldn't lied to Boog about that, even if he still like Giselle a lot. True love was a very confusing thing, but he couldn't let it go.
"Oh crud." It was all he can say. "See? What did I tell you? Elliot, I'm saying this cause you're my partner right? But we're not suppose to tell anyone about our secrets. Got it? Just do me this favor will ya? And no mushy lovey dovey stuff. Understood?"
"Awwwww but Boog....." "I said is that understood?! No offense, but your love obession towards Nades is creeping me out....and I don't think she likes it neither." Boog said. Elliot crossed his arms, he didn't think that last part was true. He may be a real sucker for love, but he knows love when he sees it. "Fine!" Elliot grumbled.
"Good. I'll be back. Don't keep her out of your sight. Remember, we're responsible for her." "Responsible? Responsible is my middle nickname! Yeah!" Said Elliot. "I thought your nickname was The Incredible Mr. E." Boog said. "It is. The...incredible responsible mister E!"
Boog sigh. He trusted Elliot, but not with the type of promises he thinks he can try to keep. He left, following Reilly behind. Nadine watch as she saw the big grizzly leaving. "Where's Boog going? Is that a beaver he's following?" "Yeah! They got animal business to do. You wouldn't understand." He answered.
Meanwhile, Reilly let Boog to where all the animals were gather. "All right, what's the emergency? It better be something important." He said.
"It is. Look!" Reilly pointed. There on the tree was a wooden sign with big red bold letters that said OPEN SEASON: COMING IN 3 DAYS.
"Open Season is coming 3 days this week monsieur bear." Serge quacked in panic. "WE NEED HELP! PRONTO!" The others animals chatted together worried on how they were gonna get rid of the hunters like they did last year. Boog cooled the crowd down. "Whoa whoa whoa! Relax everyone! We'll take care of the hunters like we did before. It's not that hard."
"You're got that right lassie! And we'll follow you." Said McSquizzy who was standing on one of the trees next to the animal crowd. "Yeah, the squirrel's right!" Said Rosie. "Si! With Boog on our side, we got nothing to worry about." Said her sister Maria. The others cheered and nodded not worrying anymore. Why would they ever worried if they got Boog to help them lead? Boog was happy to hear how fast the others hear about the plan, but something was missing. Or....SOMEONE, including a herd was missing from the group.
"Hey...anyone seen Ian and the herd?" He asked. The others look around. No sign of the deers anywhere. Why didn't they show up on this important emergency group call?
Meanwhile Nadine complain trying to figure out what to do while Boog was doing something important. "What's taking Boog so long?!" She cried. "Hey relax. Don't worry....Boog will be back soon. Why are you always complaining?" "You wanna know why I'm complaining?!" She yelled. She slowly quietly down. "It's a long story......." Elliot stood quiet, thinking of what to do while he was keeping an eye out for her. "Shouldn't you be going back to your dad's place?" He asked. "I'm not going back." She answered. "How come?" "If you must know......he punished me." She said, looking away. "Punished you? Punished you for what?" Elliot asked. "Ummm...let's just say that SOMEONE got me into a big heap of trouble and broke the window." She said, thinking it wasn't best to blame Elliot on this if he were to find out. The poor buck didn't remember a thing that happened. The last thing he recalled was being in the kitchen with Boog and saw donuts lying around next to the sink. "Boy, that guy sounds like an ass."
"You know what Elliot?" She said sitting back down. "Sometimes....I wish I had an easier life. One where no one has to give me a d**n about whatever and leaves me at peace!" "Awww, why feel down Nadine? You gotta make the best with what you got. Life is too....." "Short! I know, that's what everyone says! I don't get it Ellie, there's nothing short about life." She said. "Ummm...I was gonna say life's what you make it, but you change it the other way." He told her. Life's what you make it...where did that came from? Nadine stare at Elliot. "Wait, what you said?"
"I said you change my sentence the other way..." "No no no, the other part! Where you said something about making life or whatever." Nadine reminded him. "Oh! I said life's what you make it, why you ask?" "Elliot, what kind of advice is that?!" She said. "What advice? All I'm saying is you shouldn't stay mad all the time. So why do that? Give yourself a break." He said. Now it was all coming back to Nadine's mind. Some advice this was! It was from the lyrics of a song she knew.
"You stole that from one of my Hannah Montana songs didn't you?" She said. For once, Elliot couldn't lied to someone he care so dear to his heart. He smiled in embarassment. "Uhhh...I heard others....the first time we came into your cabin." This crept Nadine out, but not so much as he did when he acted like lovestruck at her back at home. For a vacation, it was the most strangest one she had. She look at Elliot who appeared to look like he had an idea inside his head.
"Are you gonna sing?" She asked the small one horn buck. "Want me to explain it better in song?" She shrugged. "Ehh, why not? I don't mind."
Elliot smiled. For once in his lifetime, no one had to push him around or telling him to shut up for something he enjoy, and the one thing he loved better than getting rid of hunters on open season was singing. He clear his thoart. He heard the vocal calls of singing coming in his way.
Don't let no small frustration Ever bring you down (no, no, no, no) Just take a situation, And turn it all around,
With a new attitude everything can change, Make it how you want to be, Staying mad, why do that, give yourself a break, Laugh about it and you'll see!
Nadine never heard anything so clear and wonderful at the same time before. A mule deer singing....now that's something you don't see everyday. She was impressed. Not only that, but a mule deer singing one of her favorite songs from a famous pop star she admire a lot. Hearing him sing the song in his version made more sense to what he meant instead of saying life is too short like most people do. Elliot prance around happily in joy, full of eager energy.
Life's what you make it, So let's make it rock, Life's what you make it, So come on, come on (everybody now!)
Nadine followed the happy deer around. Elliot hop around. He climb up a tree hanging upside down, then let go and landed into Nadine's arms. She didn't tell Elliot to stop for she was enjoying this deer's joyful enegry. She never knew anyone who could enjoy life as much as Elliot did. There was more to Elliot than meets the eye....or so Nadine thought.
Why be sad, broken-hearted, There's so much to do (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) Life's is hard, or it's a party The choice to up you!
With a new attitude everything can change, Make it how you want to be, Staying sad, why do that, give yourself a break, I know you wanna party with me.
Elliot hop out of Nadine's arms and gallop around like a cheerful little horse. He hop around on the stones in the pond, with Nadine following after him. Elliot was so much fun, she forgotten why he was a pain in the butt. The mule deer and the human girl ran going up a hill. There were fireflies buzzing everywhere, the bees enjoying their honey in their beehive, birds chripping in peace. The forest was so much full of good old pride and joy, it was like living in a peaceful world better than all the rest. Nadine playfully pounce on Elliot from behind, both of them tumbling down and landed softly on the sweet smell of the grass.
Elliot wagged his his small tail like a happy little puppy. He got off and continue galloping around still singing
Life's what you make it, So let's make it rock Life's what you make it, So come on, come on (everybody now!)
Let's celebrite it, Join in everyone, You decide, Cause life's, What you make it
Nadine now saw what she meant what Elliot was trying to say about life. Being around him didn't make it so hard for her anymore. Elliot stop galloping around so that Nadine can catch up with him. To his amazement, she sang along with him.
Things are looking up, Anytime you want, All you gotta do is realize that, It's under your control, So let the good times rock and roll!
It was a surprise to Elliot seeing how she wasn't so upset anymore. And to think, he thought what Boog said to him before that she wouldn't like him back that much. "Boy....was Boog wrong about her. She's amazing!" He thought to himself. A gorgeous young beautiful woman with a sweet talent of singing, just like him. Both Nadine and Elliot join in together with their walking, till Elliot gave another playful good chase.
D-d-d-do it now!
Aaaaaah!
Alright!
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Yeah! Yeah!
Life's what you make it, So let's make it rock, Life's what you make it So come on, come on (Everybody now!) Let's celebrate it, Join in everyone, You decide, Cause life's, What you make it
Life is what you make it!
Their final encore ended. Their singing came to a stop, and two of them stop the chasing and walk together in peace. The two stop to take a break. "You know....you're not so bad after all Ellie." Nadine said, petting him on the head. "Told ya! Everyone thinks I'm a pain, but not you and Boog. You guys understand me better!" He said. "I'm glad to hear that." She said. Nadine lay down on her back to relax to enjoy the peace of the forest. "Shouldn't we be heading back? Boog's gonna get worried about us."
"Ohh he's a big guy. He can take care of himself. We'll be back before he comes looking for us. Why rush?" Said Elliot. "Yeah....you may be right." Nadine reply. While Nadine was taking her time resting, Elliot spotted a couple of flowers. He goes over to grab a lot of colorful flowers. Red flowers, blue flowers, yellow flowers, purple flowers. There were flowers everywhere! Elliot didn't know what kind of flowers Nadine like, but he didn't mind taking different kinds of colorful flowers.
Nadine sat up straight, staring in disbelif. "Elliot what are you doing?" She asked. He finished picking up a pack of flowers and goes back to Nadine. He hid the flowers behind his back. "Ahem! Nadine sweetie, spending time with you is fun and I.....uhhh....I thought....I wanted to tell you......"
He said trying to tell her what he had in mind of his small head of his. He thought giving her flowers might like her more than the lovey dovey names he's usually giving to her. He didn't want to make her so inpatiently. As he was about to give her the flowers and try to finish his sentence at the same time, Elliot drop the flowers and gasped. There stood a familar looking doe in the far distance grazing in the grass. It was his old crush....Giselle!

Uh-oh... She who must not be named has returned to rip Elliot's world to shreds!! I sure hope she's not going to be a big threat. But if she is... then I guess we'll just have to see how things turn out in the end. Sorry I kept forgetting to read this chapter, Nay. Its just that this is my last year of manditory education and I've had to really focus on school.
Also, I hope Ian and the heard come back... without them, who knows how the battle with the hunters will turn out this time?

It's okay Midnight, I know how it feels when you have work getting in your way so much. Now that today is Open Season's one year anniversary, I feel like in the mood to do something very Open Season like so here comes the next chapter. I must fairly warn you on this, it will get a bit sad just so you know. But don't worry, everything will be okay at the end soon as there's more chapters coming in the way. This next song I'm about to post here is from High School Musical 2 called I Gotta Go My Own Way....thought it fits nicely during this sad scene, so here it goes. Enjoy!
Chapter 8: Meet the herd/I Gotta Go My Own Way
"Elliot, what's the matter? Are you okay?" Nadine asked him. Nothing but a blank stare came from Elliot's face, something was wrong but Nadine couldn't quite put her finger on it. Elliot gulped. What was he suppose to do? Watching Giselle grazing far in the distance of the meadow got him distracted, he forgot that Nadine was right there with him. "Ummm...ummmm.....I gotta go. Be right back!" He said dashing off quickly to head over and meet Giselle. It's been so long since the last time he saw her, he just wanted to see what she was doing. One of the flowers Elliot drop from before got caught on his feet, but he didn't pay no attention to that.
"Elliot!" Nadine cried, growling with frustration. What was he up to? "Psst...Giselle!" Elliot called getting his old crush's attention. Giselle lifted her head up to see it was an old familar face she saw before. "Elliot?"
Elliot smiled. "Hi hot stuff! What's shakin' bacon?" He grined with glee. He had so much to tell her, it felt it was forever the last time he saw her since hunting season. "Elliot...where have you been?" She said. "Oh....you know. Hanging out with Boog, doing buddy stuff." He continued. The one horn deer talk and talk, but Giselle notice there was a small purple flower stuck to his foot. "What's that on your foot?" She asked, tilting her head to the flower.
Elliot took the flower off from his foot. "Oh...this thing? It's nothing." Giselle's eyes battled fast staring at Elliot. "Elliot..were you hanging out at the flower patch again?" She said. His heart pounded furiously. He thought right then and there he was gonna faint in a heartbeat. "I......uhhh...." He said nervously stammering, but then the wonderful moment stopped when Nadine arrive.
"Elliot, why did you left me behind like that? And what's with all the flowers you left--" She says, but stops staring at the doe he was with. "Who's she?" Giselle's eyes widened with shock. "Elliot...you know this human?" She said, stepping back away slowly. "Giselle....it's not what you think it is." Elliot tried to tell her, but things got more further worse soon as Ian and the herd arrive to the scene. "Well well well.....look what the worm drag in. Hello Smelliot!" Ian said laughing with the herd. Ian hadn't change much since the day they help Elliot and the others save the forest from the hunters, he still treated Elliot like dirt.
"You got a lot of nerve showing your face around here again." He said to Elliot. "Geez....thanks." Said Elliot, shaking his head disapointly. After all they went through to save their lives from getting hang on the wall; Elliot couldn't understand why Ian hasn't treated him any much differently than what he has now. Before Ian could say another word to Elliot's face, he tensed up spotted a human girl standing near Elliot and Giselle. "AHHHHH, A HUMAN!!" Ian screamed. "What's his problem?" Nadine whispered to Elliot. "Don't ask." He said back to her. Ian stare angerily at Elliot, looking at him with disgust. "You...." "Ian...I swear. She means no harm!" Ian snorted. "Harm? You brought a human into the forest! You're a disgrace to our world. It doesn't look good on me...OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER!" He shouted. He turned to the herd. "Herd, get her!"
"Uh-oh..." Says Nadine. The herd did as they were told, formed a phalanx of antlers. "RUN NADINE RUN!!" Elliot screamed as the herd charged. Nadine bolted for it, but there wasn't anywhere run to the stampede was quickly gaining ground. She didn't have the knowledge of the forest like Boog and Elliot did, she quickly hid behind a tree, but the herd knew better. Elliot tried to stop the herd from running Nadine out of the forest, but he couldn't catch up. Being the smallest runt of the forest, Elliot had to come up with a plan to stop Ian and the herd before they hurt Nadine. He took another direction, hoping he can find a way to get to Nadine first before the herd did.
Nadine stop running, grewing tired from the run. She wasn't much of the a runner, but it was tough getting away from a whole herd of stampeding deer. Ian and the others swiftly caught up with her."There's no way running now....say your prayers human." Ian said, getting to Nadine closer and closer. Just when he was about to attack, Elliot flew into the rescue. He stepped in front of Nadine, protecting her from Ian. "IAN STOP!" He yelled.
"Are you telling me what to do? Nodody bosses Ian around!" He shouted, glaring at him with fire in his eyes. "What makes you think this human's not a hunter?" He asked, waiting for an answer. Elliot didn't know how he was suppose to break this up to them. "Elliot, will you please tell me what's going on?!?!" Nadine cried. "Nadine.........it's a long story, I....I don't know how to put it this way." He said, ears drooping down sadly. Nadine became confused. "Oh isn't this pathatic? Smelliot has feelings for a human!" Ian laughed. The others howled in laughter....all expect for Giselle. she couldn't believe it was true. Elliot....in love with a human?! "Elliot...is this true?" She asked him. Elliot looked away not saying anything. Giselle was crushed. "Hmph! And to think I actually like you!" "WHAT?!" Cried Nadine. "Don't worry about him sweet pea, Smelliot won't bug you anymore." Ian said to Giselle gently. He turn back to the one horm mule. "As for you....." "Ian....please...not in front of the girls." Elliot begged. "Go back to your useless life and leave my mate alone!" "His mate?!" The shocking human girl says. "Elliot.....you were crushing on his mate?" "Nadine I can explain....." He tries to tell her, but she wouldn't listen. "Don't bother! I knew I shouldn't had stay with you." She said, breaking into tears and ran off. Elliot follow her. Giselle watch sadly as the deer ran to try to comfort his new love, but there wasn't anything left to say...not even for herself.
"Nadine wait!" Elliot called, leaving her til they were away from the herd. "Leave me alone..." She muttered. Elliot was getting tired from all this running around. He runs closer to Nadine and stops right in front of her. "Nadine please! It's not what it looks like!" "Not what it looks like?! You humiliated me in front of those deer!" She said angrily. She couldn't look him in the eye. Elliot held her hand, patting it. "Nadine....I stop hanging out with Ian's herd a year ago." He said. She pulled away from his hooves. "Don't touch me!" She said turning to leave again, but Elliot stopped her. "I don't want you to leave Nadine....I wanted to tell you before...." "Tell me what?! That you crush on a skanky girl who belong to someone else?!" "Hey, you leave Giselle out of this!" He shouts, but stops and covers his mouth. That blew it......but why did Ian and the herd had to get in the way to make it worse? He didn't blame them but Ian, since it was his fault from the beginning. "See!? I knew it! You do care about her!" "Nadine....." "Forget it! Hanging out with you was a bad idea." "No it wasn't. I'm glad you came.....or else...." He tries to say, he sighs deeply. He could see that Nadine didn't want anything to do with him anymore. She hid away the pain, not wanting Elliot to see her cry. "Elliot....listen." She begins. Nadine lean down on her knees, putting her hands on Elliot's shoulder. She didn't know how to break this up to him so she sang.
I gotta say what's on my mind Something about us doesn't seem right these days Life keeps getting in the way Whenever we try, somehow the plan is always rearranged It's so hard to say, but I've gotta do what's best for me You'll be okay...
I've got to move on and be who I am I just don't belong here; I hope you'll understand We might find our place in this world someday, But at least for now, I gotta go my own way
Elliot couldn't let Nadine leave...he just couldn't. She meant more to him than anything else in the world...even if it meant to give up Giselle for her. His was too confused choosing what was the right love for him...either Giselle or the sweet innocent lonely teeange girl he cherish so much. Nadine got up to her feet continuing to sing as she was slowly walking away. Elliot kept following her. He walk beside her.
Don't wanna leave it all behind Bet I get my hopes up and watch them fall everytime Another color turns to grey And it's just too hard to watch it all slowly fade away I'm leavin' today cause I've gotta do what's best for me You'll be okay...
I've got to move on and be who I am I just don't belong here; I hope you understand We might find our place in this world someday, But at least for now, I gotta go my own way.
Elliot stop in front of Nadine's way again, this time he dropped to his knees and sang too. Tears cover his sad cute big eyes.
What about us? What about everything we've through?
Nadine couldn't trust Elliot anymore...not after what happend when Ian and the herd try to chase her out of the forest.
What about trust?
Elliot did what he could, explaining to to her how he felt, but she didn't want to listen. He didn't mean for it to go this way.
You know I never wanted to hurt you
And what about me?
Without her, there was nothing left in Elliot's broken deer heart.
What am I suppose to do?
There was nothing more to say. It was the most heartbreaking tragic thing she had ever been in.
I gotta go but I'll miss you.
I'll miss you.
Nadine didn't knew how much longer this deer was going to beg her to stay, especially when he was down on his knees. Nobody can say no to someone when they're down on their kness begging for a second chance, but to Nadine it was a new low. Still...no mater how much Elliot beg her to stay, she just couldn't. She was in too pain as it is; Nadine lifted up the sad deer's chin and they locked into each other's eyes, both of them trying to hold back the tears and sorrow not wanting to show it in front of each other.
So I've got to move on and be who I am.
Why do you have to go?
I just don't belong here I hope you understand.
I'm trying to understand.
We might find our place in this world someday But at least for now
I want you to stay.
I wanna go my own way I've got to move on and be who I am
What about us?
I just don't belong here I hope you understand
I'm trying to understand
We might find our place in this world someday but at least for now, I've gotta go my own way, I've gotta go my own way, I've gotta go my own way.
It drew quiet after they stop singing. Nadine couldn't face holding back her tears any longer. She placed her hand on his cheek. "I'm sorry Ellie...." She said. She bit her lip looking away, shutting her eyes tight; the tears came pouring down from her eyes She whispered one word "Goodbye" then stood up and ran, wiping the tears away from her face as she went. Elliot fell to the ground, heartbroken. He was all alone by himself once more.

Right... This time, I tried to picture it all as a movie in my head. And I don't know whether it was because this chapter was good or because I tried to imagine it all as a movie in my head, but... I nearly cried at the end.
It's such a sad chapter, it really is! I enjoyed it a lot. Well done Nadine, very good work! Keep it up!! ^_^ <33

Here's my next chapter. Not much to say on this one...mostly has a lot of talking of what's going on including feelings and letting go and whatnot. Well you'll see what I mean. Enjoy!
Chapter 9: The Talk
The animal gathering meeting ended shortly after Boog planned out to the animals what they needed to do to get rid of the hunters for hunting season that was coming soon, so once the animals were busy gathering their things up ready to be pepared, Boog left and head back to where he last saw Elliot and Nadine. Still...the mightly grizzly couldn't understand why Ian and his herd never show up. There had to be a good reason why. Boog kept wondering to himself about the missing deers, but he couldn't let that get in the way. Surely, they must of had something busy to do, but there had to be a good reason why they never show up. "Guys, I'm...." Boog said as he came back to the same spot where he left Nadine and Elliot, but there was no sigh of them. "....back? Hello? Elliot...Nadine?!" He called out. He called out for their names twice, but no answer. Where could they had gone?
There was no reply. Nothing but the sound of silent in the quiet forest. After all, Boog was gone for a couple of minutes. There was absolutely not a single trace of the human girl and the one horn buck anywhere. Boog use his big old nose to sniff down and track his two missing friends. He continue sniffing, trying to find a good scent...til he heard uncontrollable sobbing. The loud crying sounded familar to Boog's little bear ears. "Elliot?" He wondered. He follow the sound closer and closer til he found his poor heartbroken partner sitting on the ground crying his big tears out, smacking down on a couple of big twigs.
"Elliot? What are you....where's Nadine?!" Boog cried. "She's gone.....Nay nay's gone." Elliot cried to big bear pal. Tears continue flowing down his sobby little face. "Gone?! What do you mean gone?! What did you do?!" Boog cried in shock! Obviously, Boog knew the big problem his dear buddy was facing had to do something that had him invole something big, big time! "She found out about Giselle...and it's all my fault!!" Wailed Elliot as he flopped down to his back, taking a big bite outta one of the twigs. He munch on them back. Boog shook his head. "Would you please stop stuffing yourself with those twigs!?!" He said, taking them away that were laying next to Elliot's side. Elliot gave him a bored out serious stare. "I'm eating away the pain." He said taking another bite. "And they're made with 100% fiber."
"Elliot...those twigs aren't gonna do nothing but hurt your teeth." Boog said once he was done picking up all the twigs that were laying around near the deer and he toss them away. "Now gimmie the twig." He said sticking his paw out to Elliot, waiting for him to give him the last twig he was chewing on. But Elliot refused. "No." Said stubbornly and takes another bite off it. "I ain't playin with you. Give me the twig." "Nah-uh." Said Elliot, he continue chewing and munching on the twig, taking out more bites than he did with the other twigs. Boog began to lose his patience. "Give it!" "Make me!" "GIVE ME THE TWIG!!" He roared angerily. Elliot was going to make a run for it with the twig in his mouth, but the big grizzly knew better. Boog grabs Elliot by the tail and takes a hold of the twig, trying to pull it outta his mouth, but Elliot fought back. Elliot's tail gotten loose from Boog's grip. He lands on his feet safety, but the two friends wouldn't let go of the twig. "Quit...playing games Elliot! This ain't funny!" Boog growled. "NOOO!!" Cried Elliot, his mouth still on the twig. Boog had enough of the deer's silly games. Bigger than the buck himself, Boog lets go of the twig and Elliot stumbles to his tiny hoofy feet and trips, falling flat face onto the ground. But the sad deer didn't get up. He lay there quietly. He hits his fist to the hard ground and instantly breaks down in tears again.
"IT'S OVER BOOG! MY LOVE LIFE IS OVER! NADINE HATES ME!! I'LL NEVER FIND REAL LOVE!!" He said in a blubbery voice. More tears came down faster down his face than ever before. Boog tries to cool his buddy down. He didn't want to make Elliot feel bad than how he already has. "Don't cry little buddy. You're taking it too hard." "No I'm not! Nadine was perfect.....I thought....I thought she cared." "I told you Elliot....you can't be in love with a human." Boog says to him. "So what? I thought love was suppose to be a good thing. Where did I go wrong?" "You wanna tell me exactly what happened?" Boog said crossing his arms. He wanted to hear what the real story was going on since he wasn't away for too long. Elliot took a deep breath to cool himself down and begin to explain. "I saw Giselle and....well......Ian show up and---" "Wait wait wait, hold up! Ian? Ian saw you....together?!" A very stunned and shock Boog said. "Uhhh....Ian didn't exactly see me and Nadine together at first...if that's what you're thinking." Elliot told him. "Awww no!!" Boog cried, covering his face. He shook his head in disapointment. "What? What's wrong Boogster?" Elliot wanted to know. "Ian! Ian and his group were suppose to show up to the meeting!"
"Ummm...mind if I ask? Why did Reilly needed you for that meeting?" Replied Elliot curiously. "You really wanna know why?" Boog said. Elliot nodded his head yes. "Reilly called me for the meeting cause.....Open Season is coming in 3 days and we need to get ready." Elliot couldn't believe the news. "WHAT?! But I thought.....they....we...but....HOW?! I mean....didn't we take care of the hunters last year?!" The small buck cried in panic. "The animals don't think it's the same ones we fought back last year. They might think we got new ones coming in." He said to Elliot. "Wait...what has that got to do with Ian?" The puzzling confused deer asked. "We were suppose to be gather at the meeting together...all of us, but Ian and his group never show up." "WHAT?! Why didn't you take me? I wanted to go!" "I couldn't....remember I told you to keep eye out on Nadine? You know that the animals don't give out warm welcome to the humans!" He pointed out. "Oh....right. Sorry." Said Elliot sadly. He fell back down to the ground broken hearted from that moment Nadine left him. Then out of nowhere, a female voice called out to his name. "Elliot?" Boog heard the female voice too. A familar doe approached them. It was Giselle. "Giselle!? What are you doing back here?" A surprise Elliot said. This was the third time he's saw Giselle all by herself, but this time she show up...over at their side. There's a first!
The skinny doe stare at the ground sadly. She couldn't look Elliot in the face. "I....I wanted to aplogzie to you." "Aplogize?" Boog said looking surprise himself. "Yeah aplogize for what?" Said Elliot. Giselle lifted her head up for one glance at Boog, but not to Elliot. She gave one fast look at Elliot for a quick sec, then turn her head away; her ears hanging down in shame. Elliot never heard Giselle aplogizing to anyone before...not even to him. "For the way I behaved in front of you and that girl. I know I should had said something, but I didn't want Ian to think I was taking your side. If he found out, he'd killed me." Elliot didn't pay no attention to the doe. He scoffed turning his back at her. "Why should I believe you?"
"Elliot, you can't keep avoiding your problems forever. You gotta stick up for yourself." Said Boog taking Elliot by his shoulder and turning him around to face Giselle. "Boog's right Elliot. It's time I come clean...." She began. "Clean? What do you mean?" Elliot said. He sets his eyes back at Giselle, but was too nervous to look at her any further. He glanced over to his pal Boog and back to Giselle again. Now that she had Elliot's attention, Giselle didn't had to hide away her gulit anymore. "Elliot....I like you." She confesses. Elliot never thought he would be able to hear those words coming from Giselle's mouth. Before he met Nadine, Elliot had the biggest crush on Giselle for a long time and hope that someday she would like him back. He hoped she was going to say "I love you" or anything closer than that, but saying a big words like "I like you" still felt the same to him. "You.....like me?!" Elliot smiled. He smiled the biggest smile he had ever had. More bigger than a regular smile. Finally, one of the girls he cherish was making his dream a reality. "I like you, but I don't love you." Giselle said. Elliot's big smile die. His heart was now crushed. "WHAT?!?!" He yelled. He wanted to tell her he liked her or loved her for that matter, but her last words made him more crushed than Nadine did when she left him. "Ohh no don't take it the wrong way Elliot, I mean...it's not like I hate you. What I mean is...." "You....you don't love me?" Elliot whimpered getting ready to cry again. "I do, but it's not the same way you're feeling. I like you as a friend." Said Giselle. "Only....AS A FRIEND?!" Elliot shouted. "Whoa calm yourself down man, there's nothing wrong being friends.....am I'm right?" Said Boog. Giselle agreed with Boog, nodding her head with a small little smile. "See? What I tell you? Ain't no harm down." He told his little pal. Elliot stare blankly into space. His eyes wondering away from Boog and Giselle. "I think I'm going to get some fresh air." He said and walked away from the doe and grizzly heading over to the big trees. "Umm, but Elliot. We're already in..."
"Is he going to be okay?" Giselle asked, speaking directly to Boog. "Oh yeah sure. Heh, what more can Elliot possibly want?" Elliot wasn't that far from Boog and Giselle. Once he found himself away from them, he yelled out a massive scream. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" His loud scream shook the forest, scaring the birds from the trees and forcing the squirrels hide away from his horrible loud scream. Everyone in the forest cover their ears. It echo everywhere the animals were. "Oh yeah....cool as a pickle." Boog chuckled nervously at Giselle after the scream had gone away. Elliot return to them and sighed. "I feel better now."
"I better go...before Ian finds out I'm gone and sends the herd to find me. Bye Elliot." Giselle said and gallops off. Elliot didn't say goodbye back to her. He watched as his old crush left. Boog turn to his friend and puts his paw on his shoulder. "Elliot..." "Leave me alone!" Elliot pulled back and sits down on the ground moping. "You want me to go talk to her?" Boog asked. "Who?" "Nadine." Boog replied. Elliot paused. But he didn't care. He didn't want to let out anymore of his hurtful feelings. "First Nadine leaves me, now Giselle dumps me and wants us to be friends?!" "Think about it....Giselle probably didn't had no feelings for you." Said Boog. "I'll say....I thought she was wonderful. She's probably just saying that to find a better deer...hopefully not Ian." Elliot said, grumbling the last part to himself. "I knew things wouldn't work out between you." Boog said to himself. Elliot thought he heard his partner say something, but he didn't bother a word answering back to him. "Elliot, will you be okay on your own? I'm gonna go have a word with Nadine." "Go ahead! Talk to her! See if I care!" Elliot pouted. He was too upset for words afer hearing Giselle's confession to how she honestly felt about him. Boog couldn't waste his time talking to Elliot, no matter how much he try. Maybe talking to Nadine would help...if she was still in the forest. So he left and begin to search for her. "Hope I'm not too late...she's gotta be around here somewhere." Boog thought to himself. He called out to her name...no luck. Boog search and search, from the back of the log to the corner of the berry fields. Boog was about to give up when he heard crying again, only this time the crying was soft, but not as loud as Elliot's.
"Nadine? Is that you?" Boog said stepping in closer and closer to the crying sound. He found Nadine sitting by herself picking off the petals off the flowers one by one. She turned around and saw a familar looking face. "Boog? What are you doing here?" She asked, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Can I talk to you?" He asked, sitting down next to her. Nadine didn't care, but she could use the company. "Hey umm....listen. Elliot told me what happened and umm..." Boog tries to explain, but Nadine angerily tosses the flower away and gets up to her feet, shouting at Boog. "I don't wanna talk about him!" She turned away, facing her back at the grizzly and flop down to the ground just like Elliot did, but didn't lay her back on the ground. She bury her face in her arms. "I thought he was the one...." She mumbled. "The one? What cha mean?" Boog said, hearing her mumbling words. She quickly lifted her face back up. "What?" "You said you thought he was the one.....does that mean--" "No! It's not what you think!" Nadine pleaded, but Boog didn't believe her. What did she meant by the one? And then it hit him. Boog gasped. "Oh my god...You DO care about him!" "No I don't!" "Yes you do. Don't lie to me girl." "I'm not lying!" "Nades, it's cool. I know how you feel." Boog said, patting her gently on the back. "You do?" "Sure I do. When I first met him, I thought he was an annoying little pest too, but then I got used to him and our friendship became a big bond. But you....you're.....you're in love with Elliot aren't you?" "WHAT?! No! What makes you say that?" "Cause you're hiding your feelings I can tell." Said Boog. Nadine gave up. "All right...you got me. I care! "HA! I knew it! But....I don't understand how you--" "Boog, don't you see? It was never meant to be! I can't love him back, cause I....." "Not a deer?" Asked Boog. "Exactly!" She tells him "Either you're a much better actress than I thought, or you're hiding something. And I'm not talking about the love thing. There's gotta be a reason why. Why didn't you tell him?"
"I wanted to....but....it's too embarassing. He's a deer, I'm a human and...." Nadine stopped. Then continue talking again. "Boog.....can I be honest with you?" "Sure. What is it?" Boog said listening. "To tell you the truth, this isn't the first time I've in been in love before." "It's not!?" Boog didn't understood. Nadine continue to explain. This time she decides to tell him a special secret she been hiding for a very long time. "Not too long ago, I was in love with this guy. He wasn't really a guy when I first met him....he was a....a bear." "A WHAT?!" Said Boog shock. Was this girl mad? "I know it sounds crazy...telling it to you since you're a bear, but let me finish. The first time we met, we had a really great connection. It was friendship at first, but then...when I found out his other side....the side of them that wasn't always a bear. I found out he used to be a human...and then our friendship change. It became true love. Many days later, I became a bear too and we live happily ever after for the rest of our lives." "Then what happened?" Boog asked, getting interested more into the story. "Then...one day. Tragic hit me. I was on vacation for a while, then when I return, I find him with another bear!"
"He was cheating on you?!" Boog said, making sure he was listening right. He stick his claw in to clean out his ears to make sure he was hearing correctly on that last part Nadine said. "Not only that..." Nadine continue. "...turns out the bear I caught him with was an old childhood friend of his. I was so furious, I ran off and never spoke to him again. Moments later, I got myself change back into a human and move back to live with my mom again. That was it."
"Crazy story, but what I don't get is how you got yourself turn into a bear." Boog said to her, but Nadine change the topic and got back to the Elliot topic. "Right when I saw Elliot talking to that doe, my memories were coming back to me. I couldn't let that happen again." Nadine said sadly. Boog place his arm around Nadine and pulled her in for a nice good old sweet bear hug. "It's okay Nay. Elliot won't cheat on you...I promise." "You sure?" "'Course I'm sure....but he won't know that unless you tell him how you really feel." He said. Nadine realize that his word of advice was right, but she couldn't face Elliot for the night. She had to think about it. "I'll tell him....when I'm ready." Nadine said. She hugged Boog back and got up to head off home. "Uhhh...where you going? Aren't you gonna go tell Elliot the truth?" He calls to her before she had the chance to leave. "I will, but....I gotta get home. I need time to think this out through."
"Okay but don't forget. Come back when you're ready to face the talk with him okay?" "Okay....thanks Boog." Nadine said waving goodbye and leaves. Boog waited til she was no longer in sight and begins to head back. It got very late. Little did Boog and Nadine knew that they were being watch during their whole conversation. A hunter was standing on the far side of the hill watching the girl and bear saying goodbye and leaving for the night. The hunter shifted his eye grimfully and gets inside his truck to leave. He drove off heading back to Timberline. Once he got back, he drove to the location where the new hunters were gathering together setting up the loading on their guns, talking about the new hunt they were going to have. The hunters stop talking when they heard a truck had stop. "Is that you Shaw?" One of the hunters said. The hunter step out of his vechile and took out his gun. "Yess...." He grim, walking to the hunters. "Boys....I got the perfect plan to get those crazy animals fall to our trap and I know the perfect bait to get!" The other hunters cheered in joy. Shaw grabs in gun Lorraine the second in place and shoots his bullet into the sky, cutting off the hunters' happy joy for his plan. "But....remember, leave that no good bear and his wacky two legged sidekick to me....understand?"

Thank you. And here's my next chapter just like I promise before December arrives tomorrow. I'm sorry for the awful long wait everyone. A lot of stuff has been getting me distracted during this month, I don't know why. Ye be warned! The story might be a little serious as it goes long, but that's what we love about stories right? We all need a little suspense every now and then, so enjoy!
Chapter 10: One in a Million/Shaw talks with Nadine
Night fell as Nadine was heading her way over back to the cabin where her dad may had been worry sick about her. Nothing came to mind expect for the talk she had with Boog. She couldn't get Elliot out of her mind. Once she had almost arrive to the cabins, Nadine stop in her tracks and stare down at the reflection of the small pond in front of her. She signed sadly. "Boog's right. I gotta talk to Elliot soon, but.....why can't I do it now?" She said to herself staring at the stars. "You're worried how he'll feel." A female voice said. "Who said that?!" Nadine said, looking back and fourth wondering where the voice came from. "I did. Look down." She said. Nadine look back down and to her surpise, there her reflection in the water spoke to her. And to her amazement, her reflection rose out of the water, there appear to be her conscious.
"What the?! Oh god, please tell me I'm seeing things!" Grumbled Nadine too over shocked. "Ah don't worry, there's no one here but us." "What do you mean?" Nadine asked. "You have no clue who I am? I'm your conscious." It said. "Wait a second, I have a conscious?!" Nadine said surprisely. "Everyone has a conscious these days!" Her conscious said. "Huh.....I thought most days everyone has a devil and angel shoulder to talk to." "Nah, those guys only pop up if their person is having trouble to do the right or wrong thing." "Then what are you here for?" Nadine asked her conscious. "I'm here to talk about your feelings to Elliot." "WHAT?! Are you insane? You saw what happen back there! That good for nothing bitch he talked to had a herd of deer trying to kick my butt outta the forest! I tell you, this is so far the worst vacation I ever been on! Vacations aren't suppose to be making fun of or being humiliated, no! They're about going somewhere special to have fun and that's what I wanted! Was that too much to ask!?" Nadine yelled in fuss. "Is it....or were you trying to get away from it all to escape your past?" Said her conscious. "Face it, Elliot has a thing for you, you can't just throw it away like yesterday's piece of trash. He respects you! Remember that moment when you embrace him to make him feel better after he was fussing over an antler he broke? What he felt was love coming from you. There's something special he sees inside of you the others can't see."
Nadine stop and stood there, remembering that moment she gave Elliot that special warm feeling when she touch him. The first moment they lay eyes on each other wasn't exactly love at first sight. Looking back, Nadine recall how much fear Elliot had inside of him when he found out he can understand her. Nadine had a sweet connecting bond with the animals, but the animals were more different the ones back where she used to live. At first, it seem that Nadine only liked Elliot as a friend, as the time went by when she was helping him and Boog, Nadine felt something inside she hadn't felt before. Could it be love?
Nadine stop once more and look back to her conscious for a piece of advice, but she vanished like a ghost. She looked down at her reflection in the water of the pond to wait for an answer....nothing. Nadine sat down on the ground wondering what else to do. There was something inside that wanted her to go back and aplogize to Elliot for her rude behavior, but at the same time she couldn't. She became lost in her mind. She leaned back to a tree from behind her and stare again at the dark blue sky where she soon saw a big group of stars connecting in the shape of Elliot. That's when she started to sing.
How did I get here? I turned around and there you were I didn't think twice or rationalize Cause somehow I knew That there was more than just chemistry I mean I knew you were kind of into me But I figure it's too Good to be true
I said pinch me where's the catch this time Can't find a single cloud in the sky Help me before I get used to this guy
Nadine flop down laying flat on her back where her imagination went through her head, where she picture herself being surrounded by flowers everywhere around her. She pick up a big light purple flower in her hand, staring at it's natural beauty.
They say good things take time But really great things happen in a blink of an eye Thought the chances to meet somebody like you were a million to one I can't believe it, woah oh You're one in a million
Nadine watched as two shooting stars flew across the nighttime sky. There she picture another form a stars making a connection of her next to Elliot. There the two connections of her and Elliot run around chasing each other playfully in a game of tag. Nadine smiled and got up. She walk around in the forest for a couple of minutes and leans back on the tree, but without sitting down.
All this time I was looking for love Trying to make things work They weren't good enough Til I thought I'm through Said I'm done Then stumbled into the arms of the one
Without a doubt, that special feeling inside of her grew more and more deeper inside her heart as she continue singing. It was love! Nadine lifted her hand up noticing that she was still holding the flower. It was so beautiful it reminded her of the bontique of flowers Elliot was going to give her that same day before he caught Giselle in the meadow. There, she thought what he was trying to tell her, but couldn't figure out what it was. It had to be something very important if he was holding a bunch of flowers behind his back. Was it love too? The flower brought so many good memories of them together even when he wasn't around.
You're making me laugh about the silliest stuff Say that I'm your diamond in the rough When I'm mad at you You come with your velent touch Can't believe that I'm so lucky I have never felt so lucky Everytime I see that sparkle in your eyes
They say that good things take time But really great things happen in a blink of an eye
Thought the chances to meet somebody like you were a million to one I can not believe it, oh whoa You're one in a million (yea yea)
Nadine held the flower close to her heart. Finally, after looking hard through the tough times in the past, she knew Elliot had to be the one for her. She didn't like confessing it, but it was true. And she didn't care cause nothing was gonna stand in her way, not even Giselle, Ian or anyone else, human or animal. Love was love and nothing on the face of the earth can keep her from holding it back.
All this time I was looking for love Trying to make things work They weren't good enough Til I thought I'm through Said I'm done Then I stumbled into the arms of the one
I said pinch me Where's the catch this time Can't find a single cloud in the sky Help me before I get used to this guy
Never feeling so good before in a long time in her entire life, Nadine happily continue walking still holding the flower in her hand. That's when she came across a big wet soaky mud on the ground. She pick up an old stick and make a doodle of a big old heart with a drawing of her and Elliot holding hands inside the heart before the mud begun to dry.
They say good things take time But really great things happen in a blink of an eye Thought the chances to meet somebody like you were a million to one I can not believe it oh, oh
You're one in a million
Yeah
One in a million
Yeah
One in a million
After she stop singing, Nadine smiled staring at her piece of art on the mud. Her happy thoughts soon broke when Shaw arrive to the scene. "Awwww isn't that sweet? Young love!" He said getting out of the truck he borrow from one of the hunters back at the hunting campgrounds. Nadine drop the flower and stick and tries to leave, but Shaw stops her. "Hold up! Where you heading off to missy?" "Uhh...nowhere. I was just heading back home." She said nervously. There was something awfully creepy about this guy character that caught her into the act. She hoped it wasn't Shaw Boog warned her about before. "So soon? Why don't you stick around for a bit? You see.....I got a little problem." Shaw lied. "Problem? What problem?" Nadine asked.
"Nah nothing. It's these hunters....hunting season is coming soon and I hear that you ummm....talked to animals?" Shaw said grinning evilly. He look Nadine roughfully through her eyes. He hoped his evil little trick to Nadine would work if he wanted to get his hands on the thing he wanted the most. "Me? Talk? Where did you get an idea like that?" Nadine scoffed, trying to cover up her secret. How did this guy knew she talks to animals? "Rumors flowing around in these parts of the woods saying you speak to animals....that true?" Shaw wanted to know. "Ummm....maybe. But what does that have to do with hunting season?" Nadine asked not understanding what the big deal was and why Shaw wanted to know her secret about speaking to animals. "You see girly....I'm a uhhh....ranger who err....helps animals." Shaw said. "Ooh good one man! She'll never know I'm a hunter." He thought to himself. "A ranger? You don't look like a ranger. Where's your hat and uniform?" Nadine asked getting a little supscious. Something about that weird guy tells her he wasn't a ranger at all. "I'm a different kind of ranger. We don't wear them special hats and green uniforms you see the ones from Timberline. We need your help from getting the animals safe from the hunters."
"My...help?" Nadine said dumbfolded. "Yeah! Me and the boys back at the uhh...headquarters heard there's a special person who can talk to animals and you're that one!" Shaw said, pointing to Nadine. "Me? Well I don't know about that.....I'd be greatful to save all the animals from being hunted, so....what can I do to help?" Nadine asked, deciding it was best to save the animals after all. All the rest of the animals may had not been kind to her, but she'll do anything to save them, even her friends Boog and Elliot. Shaw reached into his pocket, taking out a very special rare one of a kind golden whistle. "Perfect! Listen, here's what you need to do. Round up all the animals a day before open season starts and just blow this here whistle." He said to her, putting the whistle in her hand. "The rangers will come and save the animals in no time before those hunters arrive. But remember, round up all the animals, every single one you got it?"
"Yes sir." Nadine replied. "That's a good girl...." Shaw said. Then he leaves with a heartly evil laugh out loud once he got inside his truck and rode away. Nadine look deeply at the shiny golden whistle Shaw left in her hand. She wonder if she should tell Boog and Elliot the good news, but it was getting late and she figure she had no time to talk about so, Nadine put away the whistle in her pocket and heads back over inside the cabin to get a good night's rest.

I certainly hope Nadine finds out what's really going down before it's too late! That nasty Shaw... how'd he get so clever all the sudden? He's meant to be an idiot! Ahh well, like Justin, I'm sure something awesome will happen. Perhaps a repeat of the final battle in the movie?

Perhaps. But I won't spoil the rest for you guys. All right, now that you guys are close to what's gonna happen, the story will come to an end soon with a few more chapters left, but it won't be for long. I was gonna write the next chapter before christmas, but I got caught up in my hoilday stuff, I figure I rather write it on the 27 or the 28 before New Years. Since you fellas have experience the golden whistle thing, I'm sure you're bond to know what's gonna happen next. If you don't guess, well......you'll see. And I'm sorry the titles on my chapters sound very cheesy. I'm starting to lose my ablity to write them. Maybe when I start writing the sequel for the next upcoming fanfic in 2008, I'll just stick to the regular chapter numbers. So....here it is.
Chapter 11: The trap sets
The days had past, but it wasn't for long. Boog got the animals good and ready to be perpare on their next showdown for the hunters. This was now their second time to battle them, but with different hunters this year. The bunnies gather all their spoons, forks and knives while Reilly had his beloved chainsaw filled up with energy, long enough to take down the hunters in one day. And the deers had enough bras and underwears for the squirrels to use as their slingshots. All the deers, skunks, bunnies, beavers and duck gather around together in their important meeting as Boog was making his head annoucement.
"Okay gang." Boog began. "We got one more final day before we take down those hunters. Are we ready?" "YEAH!!" The animals cheer. "OY!" Cried McSquizzy and the furry tail clan group. "We're ready to whip some bahookie!" "Good. Cause don't forget to get plenty of rest and make sure to keep an eye out for a hunter when we start. Everyone got it?" "YEAH!!" The animal cheers again with excitement. They were ready to take down the hunters anytime, anywhere. Boog smiled. He hadn't felt this much proud since the day they took down all the hunters together last year and it was all thanks to his help. The animals left after their big old group meeting was over.
Boog turn around to see poor Elliot sitting down on his own on an old log, sighing sadly to himself. "Hey you okay buddy?" Boog asked his pal when he took a seat next to him. Elliot didn't answer. He pick up a stick that was laying right next to him and use it to circle around on the ground. Over and over again. The little mule deer kept himself quiet as he continue to make blank circles on the grass. Boog put his good paw around the sad buck's shoulder. "Hey....don't worry. You'll be better after we saved the forest again. Just like last time, remember?" He said in a friendly wink trying to cheer him up.
"It's not the hunters I'm worried about...."Said Elliot. He still had his mind on Nadine. It hurt him so bad, he couldn't stop thinking about her. After she left, the only thing that focus inside his mind the most was her. Elliot hadn't been himself since Boog help the animals get ready for their take down on the new upcoming hunters. Not since she left and hadn't heard a word from her at all. He kept thinking if she was all right.
"Still thinking about Nay?" Boog asked. All Elliot did was nodded. He wonder....will she ever come back? Or was she definality gonna avoid him now? It was not everyday the happy go lucky deer would ever have his ups or downs. Then, just out of the blues, they heard a strange familar female voice. "Ellie?" It said. Elliot's ears flop back up. There was only one person who would ever called him that....he glanced right up and there she was. It was Nadine.
"Nadine? NADINE!!" Elliot cried. He knew she return for him. Elliot jumped outta his log seat and rushes over to her side, hugging her legs. "I knew you came...." He said still hugging her. Nadine pick him up and held him close smiling. She was happy to see him too. Elliot then notice a shiny new object around her neck. "Oooh, what's this?" He said touching it. He stare at it. The way it shines, it made the sun hits it beautiful shiny gold color. It was so pretty you could see the tiny stars glistening to it. "Uhh...nothing." Nadine said trying to play it cool. She grab the golden whistle away from Elliot's hoof and pulled it off from her neck, tossing it away. Little did they knew one of the animals saw Elliot with the human and starts to alert the rest.
Nadine gently sets Elliot back down and bends down at her knees. "Elliot.....there's something I gotta tell you." She said clearing her throat. "What is it?" He asked wondering what it could be. Nadine bit her lip, thinking how she was gonna put it clear to what she was gonna tell him. "Go on." Boog whispered to her. He moves out of their way to give them some room. Nadine look down, staring at her hands that were right underneath Elliot's hooves. "I'm listening...." Said Elliot, staring at her in the face. He waited patiently. He hoped it was something important......like her feelings. Maybe it was his lucky chance at finding true love again. "Elliot, I--" "HUMAN!!" A screaming loud voice cried interrupting the important moment. It was one of the beavers. The rest of the animals rush all together and saw it. There is was, Elliot...making connection to a human. They all thought she was a hunter trying to hurt them. "Aw shoot, not again!" Nadine thought to herself groaing miserably. First her encounter with McSquizzy, then Ian and now the entire forest? It was like everyone was out trying to get her. "I knew it!" Shouted Ian. "Smelliot's a traitor!"
"No wait! You don't understand...." Elliot said, desperatly waving his hooves at them. He didn't want the whole entire forest flock to out run Nadine. It was bad enough Ian and his herd did it, but it was gonna get much more worse if they had to team up with the other animals. Nadine was scared. She couldn't find it inside of her to run out of the forest again. It was far worse than she feared. While Elliot was trying his best to stop the animals before they try to harm a hoof or paw on Nadine, Nadine walks back, but didn't see the golden whistle in her way. She accidently stepped on it, making her flung back and landed on her back. The golden whistle flew into the air and landed in front of the porcupine's feet.
The animals got closer and closer to Nadine and Elliot, right when they were about to strike, Boog stepped in the way between Elliot and Nadine and the animals. He let out a loud crying roar to stop the commotion before they try to started one. "ENOUGH!" Growled Boog. "Elliot's right. The girl means no harm!" "Boog, what are you talking about? It's a human for crying out loud!" Cried Reilly. "What if those hunters sent her out to get us?!" Serge panick. "Now now, calm down everyone. Elliot and I have been hanging out with her for days. There's no way she can be working for the hunters." "How do you know?" Maria asked. "Because....unlike you guys, I know how to welcome a guest." While Boog continue to explain to the animals that Nadine meant no harm to the animals, the porcupine curiously fiddle with the golden whistle. "Hehe, shiny!" He giggled. Nadine got up from the ground, rubbing her bottom that she stop and saw the porcupine playing around with the whistle. "What are you doing? STOP!" Nadine yelled running to the porcupine before he can lay his mouth on the whistle. If that whistle was blown, who knows what could happen. But it was too late. The whistle felled to the porcupine's lips and bang....he blew the whistle loud. Very loud that it was possible to bleed another one's ears.
A sudden manly cry was coming into the forest, getting closer and closer to Nadine and all the animals. But it was more than one battle manly cry, oh no it was more. Ther animals panick not having their stuff ready and begin to ran in ciracles, but found themselves caught in human traps. Boog and Elliot fear the worst, not understanding what was going on. They were about to run and try to save the animals from the hunters but the two got flung by the leaves underneath their feet, boucing back and fourth dizzly only to see that the two of them together got caught in a trap too.....a big old white net tied to a big tree. The hunters cheer and danced around in joy, giving their partners high fives and wooted.
A truck drove by and stop. Out came the hunter and his most trusdworthy gun. "Shaw?" Said Boog in disbelief. "SHAW?! AHHH!" Screamed Elliot hiding jumping in Boog's arms terrerfried. Ineeded it was. Shaw smiles happy that his plan finally worked. "Haha, good job sweet cakes! Couldn't have done it without you." He said patting Nadine on the shoulder. "What?!" Said Elliot overcome with shock. He found out hard to believe that Nadine had become Shaw's bait of his evil trickery. "What?! But I--" Nadine try to say, but turns around and finds Boog and Elliot caught together in a big old net. Elliot's eyes had hurt written all over on it. "Nay...how could you?" "Elliot I'm so sorry." She said. "You....you betrayed me!!" Said Elliot hurtfully. He turn himself around fighting his best to hold back his crushful tears.
"Elliot, I didn't know! I...." Nadine said streching out her hand to touch Elliot, but he furiously slap her hand away from him. "You lied! Everything you said was a lie!!" He said. He couldn't fight it no more. He began to instantly broke down into tears. "I thought you were special to me!"
"I....I was just trying to tell you how I feel." Nadine said. She felt her heart cracking down into half sinking. She bowed down her head in crushing defeat. But rage soon start to rose back inside of her. "YOU!" Nadine angerily yelled pointing her finger to Shaw. "You tricked me! You told me you were gonna help me saved them!!" "Ehhh....what can I do? I'm the best lair there is in town. I got my way and it was all thanks to you." Shaw said. "You....you son of a bi--" Nadine yelled viciously rans over him to attack him, but Shaw saw it coming and socks her hard on the stomach with the back of his gun. Nadine flop down helding onto her hurt stomach. The hunters watch as they were putting the animals away in their trucks. "Eh sorry girly, but I'm not gonna let you down stop me from doing my job. Go back to where you belong and get yourself a life!" Shaw said helding Lorraine the second inches close to her face.
Nadine moved back away from Shaw and his gun. "You'll never get away with this." "Oh but I already did....you see, those golden whistles are a hunter's favorite thing to lure our bait into the traps." He said to her. Nadine rose back up to her feet while Shaw turn around and step back into his truck. "Take them away boys." He order the hunters. The men cut the net off from the tree and stored Boog and Elliot onto Shaw's truck. Nadine tries to stop them, but the other men thought twice and two men grab her by her arms pulling her away before Nadine had her chance to save Boog and Elliot from their trap and off to Shaw's truck. "So long missy hahahaha!!" Shaw said in a hearty evil laughter as he rides his way out. "NO!! Come back!! Boog! Elliot!!" Nadine screamed as she was trying to struggle out of the hunters' grip, but they held her too tight and they were too strong to let her go. Boog let out a sad roar, only to be heard from their distance as they were no longer in sight. "Come on, you're going home." One of the hunters said to Nadine.
"NO! I can't!! Let me go!!" Nadine scream. She kicked the two guys on their stomach and tries to run after Shaw, but he was already too far and can't be seen anywhere in sight. Boog and Elliot were gone and in the hands of their arch ememy. Nadine fell to her knees gripping tightly on the soft grass as she sob. "What am I gonna do now?"
