Wow... I think "You son of a bi--" summed it up quite nicely.
I loved how you kicked the two hunters in the stomach... they'll be feeling that in the morning. Kinda sucks for the animals though, I just hope Nadine makes it in time to save them.

[Elliot's Girl]

Don't worry, I will. It shows it in the next chapter. I feel that this one is gonna be a little shorter than most of my chapters. It's sorta like the same scene in the movie where Boog is telling the animals they should fight back againest the hunters, only I'm trying my best not to repeat too much from the film or else that be like a rip-off. The final battle will be shown next in the chapter after this one soon as I get some replies.

Chapter 12: The start of a new partnership

Night fell that same day and the animals were locked in cages in the number of category, deers, rabbits, squirrels, ducks, skunks, beavers, including the little small blue porcupine who had a small cage for himself, everyone expect for Boog and Elliot who were still trap in the big net they got caught in before. Boog try his best to break open the net with his teeth, but it was differcult to do it when you got a loud month one antler buck trapped in the same trap as him. Elliot was trying to rest, but it was hard for him to do with Boog's big body moving everywhere and squashing him to death. Elliot kicked back. "Quit moving!"
"You quit moving!" Shouts Boog, pushing his partner away from him. The bear and deer push each other, back and fourth, trying to struggle in for room.

Shaw stepped in, pointing his gun Lorraine the second in front of Boog's face. "Don't even think about it bear!" He said to him. "These ropes were made by the strongest man back in my town. You're gonna need something sharper to break those babies!" He laughed. He gleem at Elliot evilly, then back at Boog and the two of them again. "I just wanna take one last look at you two before I stuffed you with my own bare hands tomorrow!" He chuckled evilly and left. The hunters were left sound asleep in their tents and Shaw kept guard. Night grew very late and Shaw began to fell asleep himself. Boog continue to chew through the ropes, but it was tough and the side of his teeth were hurting. "Will you stop chewing? I'm trying to sleep here!" Elliot fussed. He kicked Boog in the arms with his back feet hard. "OUCH! What's your problem Elliot?" Boog cried, rubbing his sore big arms. For a scrawny little mule deer, Elliot had a tough kick in the feet.

"What's the point?! My love life is gone, Nadine betrayed us, we're stuck in human traps, and we're gonna be mounted on their walls tomorrow morning!" Elliot pouted. Boog had never seen his friend so down before, not after the way Shaw used Nadine as his bait for his evil trickery. Boog took a big sighed. "Elliot you gotta think straight! I don't think Nadine knew what happen...."
"Oh what's the use? You were right about everything Boog. Falling for a human was a bad idea." Elliot said sadly. Boog never thought he would hear those words come out from Elliot's mouth. He thought hard and clear to himself, he knew falling in love with someone that was not the same species as them was somewhat disturbing, but it wasn't his choice to began with.
"Now wait a mintue cornflake, I know I had my doubts about Nay at first, but she's not a bad girl. In fact I--" He continued to say, but was cut off when they heard a strange female voice trying to get their attention.

"Pssst! Boog, Elliot!" It said. Boog and Elliot look forward. It was Nadine who had returned to save them. "You're here! Boy, am I glad to see you!" Boog said happily. He never gave up hope for Nadine. He knew right then and there she was going to save them before they were gonna get skinned and hang from the hunters. Elliot wasn't too surprised himself. "Nadine? What are you doing back here?" He said, trying not to show off too much emotion. "What do you think I'm doing? I'm here to rescue you."
"How? The ropes are tight!" Boog said. "Not for long it won't." Nadine said and pulled out a small knife. When Elliot saw the knife in Nadine's hand, he panic. "AHHHH! A KNIFE! SHE'S GOT A KNIFE!" He screamed, thinking Nadine was going to hurt them. He try to flee, but forgotten he was stuck in a net with Boog, so he ran around Boog like the frightful animal he was, not holding still. Boog try to keep the deer from moving around, but he was too fast for him. Luckily, he finally got a hold of him and cover his mouth. "SHHH! Quiet Elliot! You're gonna get us caught!"

Nadine rolled her eyes at Ellliot. There were some things that never changed. She hoped to free them quick before Shaw woke up, so she quickly try to cut the net open as fast as she can, til finally she did it. She opened the rope and Elliot and Boog broke free. Elliot couldn't pretend to hide away his emotions anymore, so instead of jumping for joy, he jumps onto Nadine and hugs her. "Oh thank you thank you thank you!" He said, he never thought he be too happy to be free from a human trap. He loved her too much that he couldn't stay mad at her for long. Nadine hugged him back and gently set him back down on the ground. "Great! Now let's get out of here." She said to them and soon tries to head on off, but Elliot stops her. "What about the others? We can't just leave them!" He said talking about the animals. As much as he admitted they were jerks, he knew they couldn't leave them alone to the hunters or else they would be killed. Boog settled it in, deciding he'll help to free the animals from their cages cause he knew they weren't so bright around Nadine if she try to free them.

"You two go, I'll free them."
"Boog are you sure? What if Shaw wakes up?!" Elliot said worried for his friend. "Don't worry. I'm as sneaky as a fox. All I gotta do is find the key and free them. You and Nades find a place to get away from the hunters, we'll catch up with you later." Boog said, leaving the two alone. Elliot and Nadine did so and took a walk together soon as they were away from the camping grounds.

"I'm sorry about today Ell," Nadine said, beginning to aplogzie while they were making conversation. "If I hadn't know Shaw was the guy you and Boog told me about, this wouldn't had happen. I would never do anything to hurt you. I don't betray my friends behind their backs." Elliot didn't said a word and kept thinking to himself through out the whole walk. He accepted her apology, but he wonder if Nadine was ever true to be his love. He seen Nadine push him around a little bit whenever he had whined over something so foolish like needing a place to hide when he and Boog discover Shaw had returned to hunt them, but was very kind to him the entire trip before he talked to Giselle and ruin every moment they had before she came back to him, but he began to wonder...was it all worth it? There was only one thing he needed if he was ever going to have his own love life. He needed to be sure if Nadine was going to be faithful to him. "Nadine..." He started to say, changing the subject. "Do....do you like me?"

"Like you?"
"Yeah you know...like me like me?" He asked. He wanted an answer straight away, but he also didn't want make Nadine felt like he was rushing over their conversation, he wanted to know right away before everything was too late. Nadine gulped. She decided to try out her confession one more time, hoping before Boog had the time to free all the animals from their cages. "That's what I wanted to tell you before." She said, kneeling down on one knee. "Elliot...I'm--"
"AH-HA! There are there! Serge quacked, alerting the others he found Nadine talking to Elliot. The animals all gather together in a big group and found them talking to each other. "God! Is it too much to ask for some privacy?!" Nadine cried. When were they gonna stop chasing her out of the forest? She thought. Like they didn't know when to give a person their space. Reilly pounce out of nowhere with his beloved chainsaw, he felt like he was in full power, ready to get rid of Nadine once and for all, but his chainsaw had lost power from the gas. "AHH! She's a goner! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Reilly wailed, over his beloved chainsaw.

Ian groaned, getting upset. Reilly was the only one who had full power on a weapon strong enough to cut down more than one tree, and of course maybe cut down a human in half, but enough was enough. He wanted to get Nadine out of the forest before she cause anymore trouble. "When you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself." Ian said to himself. "OUTTA MY WAY!!" He yelled, pushing the animals away from him. "Ian, wait!" Giselle cried, trying to stop him from harming Nadine or Elliot. "Back off, Giselle! That human is mine!!"
"Let me spray her! I'll shoot her away!" Rosie said, but Maria yanked her back. "No, I'll do it!!" Soon, the skunks, including Ian, and the rest of the animals began to agrue whom was gonna get Nadine out of the forest. Suddenly, a big bear roar stop the animals from fighting. It was Boog. He show up, stepping in between Elliot and Nadine and the animals once more. "STOP IT! Can't you guys see that the girl is harmless?"

"HARMLESS?! She was working with those hunters! That woman is nothing but trouble!" Ian yelled. "No she's not!!" Elliot yelled at Ian. He walks toward the big mancho buck himself. "I was the first one who met her!" The animals gasped. "Aye, he did. I was there." McSquizzy admitted. "Should had known Smelliot was gonna make loudsy friends." Ian said out loud, hoping that Elliot didn't hear that last sentence of his. "LOUDSY?!" Cried Elliot. "Ian...you're a big-headed jerk!"
"Excuse me?!" Ian said looking in shock. It was the first time he ever saw Elliot standing up for himself, but most importantly, he was standing up for the human he loved. "You heard me! I am sick and tired of you pushing me around and treating me like dirt Ian, but leave Nadine out of it! She wouldn't do a thing to hurt us! She wouldn't even harm a fly, right Nadine?" He said. Nadine agreed, and began to step in herself. "Elliot's right! I'm tired of you guys pushing us around. You think I enjoy getting my butt kicked around like an idiot?! It wasn't my fault Shaw used me to hunt you guys down before Open Season, I'm new to the forest!
Just because I'm a human, doesn't make me a hunter. Do I look like the kind to carry guns and weapons? How would you like it if someone kicked you around all day?!" Nadine said to all the animals.

The entire forest animals mutter to each other.They admitted they weren't so kind from the start, they treated her the same way they did to Boog when he arrived to the forest, but they had been living in the woods longer before Boog, Elliot and Nadine have moved and being in the forest the longest time was their home. They'd give anything to protect it, and theirselves. "Sorry." The little blue porcupine said. From now on, the animals were gonna try to be nice to newcomers, including humans who don't carried guns or make traps. Boog thought of a bright idea. "Nadine....would you like to join us?" He asked.
"Join you? You mean in..."
"That's right! If there's one thing those hunters don't got, it's you. We'll have the greatest battle of our lifetime with you on our side. So let's do to them what they're been doing to you. I was just like you once....expect for the....ahem, you know." He said in a hinty hint nodding sort of way.
"What?" Elliot said confusly. He didn't understand where Boog was going through that.
"Never mind. What do you say Nay? You wanna become one of us?" Boog said, offering Nadine the deal. Nadine smiled in agreement. She was more gladly the animals were going to help without kicking her around. It was the start of a new partnership.
"Yes!" It was all she can say. The animals cheered and left getting their stuff to be perpare for the next morning where they were ready to take down the hunters once again.

While they left, Nadine follow Boog and Elliot with them. "So what were you trying to tell me Nay?" Elliot asked, looking at Nadine. Nadine wanted to kept focus on the battle for the hunters, but was afraid if she try to confess her feelings to Elliot once more, something might stop her from doing that. " Uhhh...I'll tell you later...after we take down the hunters and give them what they derserve!"

Sorry for the long wait everyone. Your respones came in slower than I would had thought after the last chapter sat there for 3 months!
I was gonna update this next chapter yesterday or the day before, but I decided...what the heck? I'm gonna load it up today and get it over with so I can finish it sooner. Now here's the moment you all been waiting for my friends; the big showdown! Enjoy!

Chapter 13: The big battle

Morning rise the next day. The beautiful clear sun reach it's peak as the dark blooming clouds and stars had faded. The hunters overslept in their tents for a while before they could waken. There was no need for them to rush after catching all the animals they needed for to kill and skin on Open Season. Til there was a sudden loud cry. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
The hunter got started and awoke by alert! They quicky put on their clothes and snatch up their guns as they ran out of their tents. "What is it Shaw?" One of the hunters said, looking worried. To their shock, they found Shaw staring at the empty cages; including the net Boog and Elliot were on but the net was broken!

Shaw stare at their traps angerily. "You....YOU LET THEM ESCAPE!!!!" He screamed pointing his finger at the hunters. "But Shaw! You were the one who--"
"Never mind! Find those animals quick and don't stop until you find them!!!" He ordered. "But what about you?" Asked the same hunter who look a bit concerned and frighten by Shaw's anger. Shaw pick up his beloved rifle. "Find them! But leave that no good bear and his man-walking two-legged hopping sidekick to me." He said and walked off. The hunters did as they were told so they left their trucks and tents behind and start searching. It wasn't too long until they heard a screaming sign flying through the air. "What was that?" Said one of the hunters.

It was a sign of the blue porcupine. Nadine who was on from the high sign of the hill spotted the blue porcupine flying through the air. "It's the signal!!" She said. Then, the ducks came in flying with the skunks on their backs. As they came in, flying like an army force, the skunks bounce off the ducks' backs and hung onto their feet. "Bombs away!!" Marina and Rosie shouts as they skunks deliver a smelly little present to the hunters they wouldn't forget. "Oh my god!! Skunk poop!!!" One of them shouted. They ran in circles trying to get away, but their "Stinky gifts" was too strong to get away from and the stench was watering their eyes. Meanwhile back from the hill were Nadine was standing, Elliot and his herd were getting prepared. "Are you ready for this?"

"Why did I made you talk me into this?" Says Nadine not too please about part of the plan who was found sitting on Giselle's back. "Boog offered you remember? I thought you--"
Giselle was saying, but Nadine rudely interrupted her. "I meant riding on YOU!" But Ian, anxious about keeping his eye on the prize, grew tired of the girls bickering. "Hey hey hey!!! Less talky, more focus!!"
"You two don't get along well do you?" Elliot replied, unaware that Nadine really dislike Giselle more than he picture.
"Can we get this over with?" Nadine asked.
Elliot had been waiting for another battle againest the hunters since his last battle with them a year ago. With pride, he greatly let out a big loud "CHAAARRRRGGGGEEEEE!!!" With that, Ian and the rest of the deer rode down the hill, heading straight towards the hunters. While they were charging down, Boog on the other side from the hill, took his own charge. "All right gang, ready?" He said to the little creatures. They all shouted in agreement "OY!!!"
"Then let's go kick ourselves some hunting bahookie!!!" They all
shouted and cheered and soon start heading towards the hunters. Both, Boog, the small furry little animals and the deers charge right through the hunters battling them like never before. Half of McSquizzy and his fury tail clan threw many objects at the hunters from the tress while the other half use half of the deer herd to launch bigger and heavier objects using their underwear they got from the hunters last season. The others ran and ran running and attacking them with their used weapons.

Nadine, who was still on Giselle's back, was having a little hard time hanging on. A hunter from behind was about to shoot one of the innocent little bunnies, until Giselle and Nadine saw that was happening and with that, Giselle greatly hit the hunter right on the face with her hard back legs, hurting his jaw but was knocked out. "Ack! Hey watch it!! I almost fell back there!" Nadine cried, nearly almost dropping after that hard kick. "Sorry!!" She said as they were riding together. "I don't mean to sound rude, but if we're gonna work together, you need to stop agruing with me and keep the focus on the battle!!" She said, trying to keep her patience with the teenage human while she was more focus on watching where she was running to. "ME?! You're the one who--" Nadine agrue back, but her last sentence was cut off short when Giselle accidently stumble on a rock and trip hard, sending Nadine flying. Just when she was about to become a dead flat roadkill on the ground, a big strong bulk of thick fur came in just in time and save her. She landed on a big oof! She found herself riding on Ian's back, along with Elliot on for the ride "Need a lift?" Elliot smiled. "Thanks Elliot. I owe you one."

While the hunters couldn't fight back and were getting out number by the animals' attack, one of them dailed Sheriff Gordy on his cell phone. Meanwhile back in Timberline, Nadine's dad show up at Sheriff Gordy's office who was there with Beth. "Beth, have you seen Nadine? I check around town, but I can't find her anywhere!" Beth shooked her head. "No sir. I haven't seen her since the hike." Nadine's dad was getting a little worried. He blame himself for taking out his anger on the broken window back at their cabin, thinking she ran away. Just then, Gordy's cell phone rang. "Who's calling me during my work hours?" He wondered and answers his cell. "Hello? Yeah...okay I'll tell them. It's for you." Gordy said and hands his cell phone to Beth. She stare at the tiny picture on the screen. It was Nadine helping Boog and the animals attacking the hunters. "Sir!" She gasped. "We better get going!"

Back at the forest the hunters were getting exhauseted from the animals' attacks, but they were not about to give up. They didn't came all this way to be hunted theirselves "Come on men!" One of the hunters declared. "Are we gonna let these animals get the best of us?"
"NO!!!" They shouted at the same time then began to charge at them. "Quick! We gotta do something!!" Cries Boog. "Who's got one of those exploding red sticks?"
The bunnies found a fire cracking stick hiding in with their human supplies and handed it to Boog. "Elliot, Nadine! CATCH!!" He said litting it open and toss it to them. Nadine was the first one to catch it on time. "Got it! Wait...what are we suppose to do with a safety flare?"
"Leave it to us! We know what we're doing!" Elliot told her. McSquizzy and his clan didn't have any marshmellows like the last time, but saw what they had left was extra firecrackers so they use it and stick it to their BBQ forks. Ian ran as he past his way while Nadine and Elliot light up the firecrackers with the safety flare. The squirrels loaded the fork handles with the underwear and streched them way back waiting for Boog to take order.

"FIRE!!" Boog shouts. They snapped the undies and launched the firecrackers into the air. The hunters stop charging when the firecrackers came in, hitting the ground with huge loud sparkling booms and start heading back to their trucks.
"Send in Mrs. Happy!!" McSquizzy declared. Serge and Deni rose in the air clutching a propane tank with them painted with horrible make-up on. "Where you guys get a propane tank at?" Questioned Nadine. "We always keep wee bit of extra for a grand finale." McSquizzy laughed. They threw the tank down on one of the hunters' trucks, waiting for it to explode; nothing! McSquizzy frown. "Awww, Mrs. Happy didn't go off!"
"I thought we were suppose to chase them off." Said Nadine.
"Wait! We got one more exploding stick left." Boog said when the bunnies handed him in their last safety flare they got. He lift it open and handed it to McSquizzy. The little irish squirrel snatch it away from Boog's paws and quicky launched it into the air with the pair of the underwear and send it flying, landing right on top of the tank, making it explode like the fourth of july.

The hunters watch in horror as one of their burning trucks flew through the air and landed on the rest of the trucks. The sounds of the firecrackers sparkle bright and loud. It was the most proudest moment of the animals lives. With no trucks left, the hunters ran out of sight. Boog, Elliot, Nadine and the rest of the animals cheered in joy. "FREEDOM!!" McSquizzy declared. While the smoke was clearing, Boog heard the sound of faint footsteps coming in. He look around, squinting his eyes to see who was coming, but can only see Nadine and the animals cheering for their victory. Was he hearing things? Suddenly, a rifle was pointed in front of Boog's face standing only a few inches away.
It was his old enemy back for his revenge; Shaw!

All right guys! Here is the moment you all be waiting for! The big battle with Shaw. I aplogize for not updating sooner, I was going too before the end of the month, but my mind was off somewhere to who knows where and I couldn't decide if I should end the fanfic with less or more chapters until I made it final. I'm going to end it with 15 chapters, so you're in luck. And you're gonna catch some real surprises too in this next one you're about to read. Hope you enjoy! ^_^

Chapter 14: Showdown with Shaw

"Hello Goldilocks. Miss me?" Shaw laugh as he was holding his beloved gun Lorraine the second in front of Boog's face just inches away. Finally he was gonna have the revenge he thought he deserved untill....WHAMMO! A big pot soon came from out of nowhere and smack Lorraine the second out of Shaw's hands and landed on the ground; thanks to Elliot and the others. "Bull's eye!" Declared Elliot. Shaw growled, but there was no way he was going to get beaten like last time, even if it meant taking down Boog with his own bare hands like before.

"Boog get the gun!!" Nadine calls. Both Boog and Shaw stare eyes at the gun laying on the ground, but the two of them knew what they were thinking. The hunter and the big overweight 900 pound grizzly reach in for the gun together, but the two of them fought for it. Then it slip out of their hands...and paws. Shaw wasted no time and he didn't have all day to take Boog down, so he took out his handy knife he needed. "All right bear! It's now or never!!" He said and tries to swipe his knife, but Boog kept dodgeing it to avoid being cut or stab. "You guys gotta do something!!" Nadine told the animals worriely. She couldn't bear to watch the fight and they needed a way to save Boog before he was toast. "We don't have much ammo left!!" Reilly told them. Nadine look over at Elliot. "Elliot, can't you do something?" She pleaded. The scrawny buck look at the others to see if they had any weapons left Boog can use to defense himself.

Boog was feeling tired of dodgeing Shaw's knife and he couldn't keep doing it any longer so smack the knife right out of Shaw's hands and look at Nadine and the others for help. "Throw me something! ANYTHING!!" He calls to them. Lucky for them, they did found one thing. A golf stick! Elliot knew the golf stick didn't help much expect throwing Shaw away before the big finish, but he knew it was his only chance to save his partner. Elliot snatch up the golf stick and with the help of Ian's strong mighty antlers and the bra around them, Elliot launch the golf stick in time for Boog to catch it. Unfortunately, while Boog was distracted asking his friends for help, Shaw had already got a hold of Lorraine the second and sneak in quietly beind him. Once Boog caught the golf stick in time, he was gonna get ready to fight back when all of a sudden Nadine shouted "BOOG LOOK OUT!!"

Boog turn his head around for a quick glance, but it was too late. BAM! Shaw slam his gun across Boog's face and knock the big bear out. The others gasped in horror. Now all they could do was watch helplessly as their mighty hero Boog was gonna be done and finish once and for all. Shaw laughed evilly. With Boog knocked out cold, it was going to be easier for Shaw to kill him. "Haha! You're mine now bear!" Nadine couldn't watch the scene any longer. She had to do something. Nadine was going to make a run for it to save Boog, but Elliot saw it coming and grab a hold of Nadine by the arm before she had the chance. "Nadine! What are you doing?" Nadine try to released her arm from Elliot's grip. "I have to save him!! Lemmie go!!"
"You can't go Nadine, it's too dangerous!" Elliot exclaimed. "He's right!" Ian agreed as he was listening. "It be suicide to go after that hunter."
"Stay out of this Ian!" Nadine yelled at the big mancho buck after she got her arm out of Elliot's tight gripping hooves. "This isn't about you!"
"This isn't about you either!!" Elliot snapped at the human. "I can't lose you." He said in a heartbreaking tone. Nadine frowned. She agree the idea was crazy, but after what they went through so much, the last thing she needed was losing her friends. "I know..." She replied, putting her hand on Elliot's cheek. The scrawny mule deer's face lighten up and his ears flicker a little high when Nadine touched his face. "Oh boy! Is she gonna do what I'm think she's gonna do?" Elliot thought to himself. He gulped nervously, his hooves were feeling clammy and his body was quivering.

"I'm sorry Elliot, but I gotta do this! I'm not gonna lose our best friend. If I don't make it, I just want to you that I....I...." Nadine said softly as she drew closer to him. Elliot became nervous he felt like he was gonna have a breakdown. Through thick and thin, their adventures had bond them closer, but Elliot had a funny feeling in his gut. Something that wasn't there before. Yes he knew Nadine had only saw him as a friend and only a friend, but was this true? Was Elliot going to recevie the love life he always wanted? But their attention for each other got broken soon as Shaw pointed his gun at the unconcious Boog, ready to move in for the kill. Nadine turn around quick and gasped, but then she look back at Elliot quick as if this was gonna be their real goodbye, so Nadine gave him a big hug before she left. Elliot was stunned. After his big hug from Nadine, he just stood staring. He was expected more of a kiss, but that big hug meant a little more than what he picture. Nadine step in in time standing in front of Boog for protection. "Drop the gun and step away from the bear Shaw!!" She said.

"YOU?! I knew you were behind all this." The mad hunter said. "Have you gone stupid?"
"No....I'm doing this for the love of my friends! And for someone that's special to me." Said Nadine. Elliot's heart was touched. And he knew by someone, she had to mean him. Shaw found it ridiculous. "You're the most patheic teenager I ever met, but you leave me no choice....I'm taking you down first." He said. Shaw had never gotten rid of a human before face to face, but he wasn't going anyone or anything stand in his way. Nadine had to think fast without getting harmed. She saw not too far from her the golfing stick Boog had not too long ago and grab it from the ground before Shaw had his chance to shoot her. Once she got it, she ran fast towards Shaw and smack him in the face and took the gun from his hands. The animals rooted and cheer for her. "WOO-HOO! Way to go Nay!" Elliot said with a smile. "Eh your girlfriend's not so bad after all...for a human." Ian said to Elliot with a wink. Nadine tossed away the golfing stick and held the gun, pointing at Shaw. The hunter rosed up from the ground. "You wanna kill me? Go ahead! Shoot me!!"

Nadine held the gun tight in her hands, that her grip was making her arms shake. The tenstion between them flew so clear, that you can smell it. The animals waited patiently for Nadine to press the aim button to killed him. "Nay! What are you waiting for? Kill him!!" Elliot says. The animals chanted for Nadine to kill Shaw, but the pressure grew tense. Nadine drop to her knees, including the gun. "I can't do it!!" The animals didn't understand what was happening. "I"m sorry...I can't do it! I've never shot anyone before. I'm not a killer!!" She cried. "Nooo....but I am!!" Shaw smiled wickly and grab Lorraine the second in time. Nadine drop down to her back and crawled backward, but Shaw was stepping in closer and pointed the gun in front of her. "Say goodbye sweetcakes!!"

Elliot had have enough! He wasn't going to stand and watch his beloved sweetheart get killed in front of his very own eyes. He had to do something. With Boog still out cold, he wouldn't be able to get him up in time to save her. He knew it meant one thing and he was going to used the most biggest sacrifice he can possibly think of. Elliot step in the bra launcher and the bunnies pulled him back carefully before they can launch him. Shaw was watching what Elliot was doing from the corner of his eye. If he can get rid of Boog easily, he can do the same thing to Elliot. He wasn't going to let what happen last time get the best of him and he had it all planned out. If he can use Nadine as bait before, he can used her again. Nadine wondered what Shaw was staring at, she glance over a little and saw what he was planning to do. She gasped. "ELLIOT DON'T!!" She shouted, but it was too late. The bunnies release their paws from the bra and launch Elliot straight over at Shaw. They could hear his screaming yelling inside their ears and now was the perfect time.

Shaw thought fast and turn around quick to make his shotgun. "NOOO!!" Nadine screamed at the top of her lungs. She gets up from her feet and tries to push to Shaw away from shooting Elliot, but everything was going so fast, it was impossible to do it in time. Lorraine the second made her blasted gun shot, that you can hear the sound of it swooning through your head. Elliot shut his eyes tight to avoid the bright light of the shooting gun coming to him, but that wasn't the only thing. He can felt the pain piecreing through his skin. Elliot screamed in pain before he hit the ground. Nadine gasped in horror as she saw everything flashing before her very eyes. Her heart pounded faster than the normal speed. She froze in fear and shock as she stood there staring at the lifeless Elliot on the ground. "Noooo...." She whisper gently.

The noise of the blasting gun shot awoke Boog in time to see what was happening. As he rises up, he rub his sore head. "Owww, what in the--" He said feeling a little bit bruised from the hard knock out gun, but saw everything around him. Elliot was lying lifelessly on the ground and Shaw had his gun where Nadine was standing helplessly. This was the last straw! Shaw put in another bullet in his gun. Nadine snap out of her frozen fear and look back to see Shaw getting ready to kill her. "Any last words princess?" He said, but then something amazing happen. Just as Shaw was going to finish Nadine off, she saw a big huge shadow growing from behind Shaw with a big growling bear grunt sound. Shaw turn around to see what it was, only to find Boog alive and okay. "Wha..." Boog pins Shaw down hard on to the ground with his strong gripping paws tight on his gun and roars loudly in front of Shaw's face. The hunter's face grew paled. "Don't mess with the Boogster." Boog said and takes Shaw's gun away and beats him down brutally with it.

"OW OW OW!! Stop it! Please!!" Shaw beg as he was getting beat up by his own gun. Boog continue beating him up with it until Lorraine the second was nothing more than a old busted piece of rifle. He stood there staring at Shaw lying on the ground wounded and beat up. "He's all yours fellas!!" Boog said to the animals. The animals charge toward the beaten hunter and pelted him with their weapons. Shaw then began to make a run for it as they were chasing him and beating him up. "This isn't over bear! I'll get you for this...and your little friends too!!" Shaw yells as he continued getting chased and beaten up until you couldn't hear nothing but the sound of his distance yells.

Boog was happy they finally had the open season thing taken care of, but he couldn't forget Shaw's last words as he watch the animals chasing him out of the forest. He'll be prepared of whatever life throws at him. The big grizzly bear smiled. "We did it Nadine! High five!!" He said raising his paw up, but it was quiet.
"Nadine?" He said. Where was she? He turn his head back wondering where she could be but then found her hung over at Elliot's lifeless body. "Oh no..." He said in a sad whispering tone. He walked up beside her and saw Nadine holding Elliot in her arms sobbing, but step back away before he gotten too close. It was too sad and depressing to comfort Nadine in her time of need, but without Elliot, there was nothing left for her...or for them. "Elliot...Elliot don't die! Please don't die on me. I don't wanna lose you! I need you Elliot. I need you with me." She sob endlessly. Elliot didn't move. He just didn't move, not one single movement at all. His eyes were still shut. She cradled Elliot close to her while she was still crying. The warmth heat of his fur felt like the cripsy warmth of the sun, but to Nadine, there was nothing but pain...endless cold harded pain and death. "I'm so sorry I couldn't killed Shaw. I just didn't had in me. I'm such a failure! I know you can't hear me, if you did....I...I just wanted to tell you that I...I..." She said choking in tears.

"I love you...I always love you!" Nadine said clunging into him. She never wanted to let him go. She buried her face onto the top of his head while the tears kept coming down her cheeks. Then something happen. As she was still holding him in her arms with her face buried into his warm fur, she felt a little small touch from her right shoulder going to the side of her neck. "I love you too." A male voice whisper. What was going on? Was she hearing things or was Nadine doing crazy? She lifted her face up to see who or what it is, but found Elliot's arm on her. She looked down at him. The deer's eyes slowly open and gave her a little small smile. Nadine gasped in shock and drop him by surprised. "ELLIOT! You're....you're alive!!" Boog was by himself not so far away from Elliot and Nadine that he heard the sound of joy in Nadine's tone and smiled. He was glad to see his buddy alive. Nadine was overwheled with joy, that she scoop up Elliot and gave him the biggest hug she can give him. "I can't believe it! You're alive!! But...how did you...the the gun...it was and you were..." Nadine stammered crazily. She may had been overwhemled but she was also overwhemled with confusion. How did Elliot surivied the bullet without getting harmed? "Who cares? The important thing is Mister E is up and alive!" Said Boog, walking over to them and giving his partner a noogie on the head.

Elliot smiled and nudge his buddy back. Nadine heaved a sigh of relief. "Don't scare me like that. You had us worried!" She said petting his head that messed up his small little hairs on the tip of his head. "Sorry Nay." Elliot said and hugged her. Nadine hugged him back, but something came up in her mind. "Wait! Did you hear everything I said before you woke up?" She asked out of curiousty. Elliot think back. "Errr....something something and then a big finish, but I couldn't hear the last part clearly."
Boog knew this was Nadine's final chance to confess her feelings to Elliot while there was still time. "Well...are you gonna tell him?" He reminded her. "Tell me what?" Replied Elliot looking confused. Nadine took a deep breath to cool herself down, then look at Elliot without hiding too much of her confession. "Elliot, there's something you need to know and I hope I can tell you before another interruption hits us, I thought I should let you know that I....I...." Nadine begins to try to say, but was babbling a bit. "What?" Says Elliot, not being able to understand what she was trying to say.
"Oh geez, how do I put this?" She said to herself. "Ummm....Elliot, have you ever thought there might be someone whose...maybe...just maybe....have feelings for you back?"

"Pfffp! Yeah!" Elliot agreed, but the way she asked him sounded a little bit suscipous to him. "Wait...whattdya mean?"
"Well...I'm not gonna point out names, but there's someone who really I mean...REALLY likes you." Nadine said giving a small hint, but as usuall, Elliot was being so clueless he didn't understand who or what she was trying to say. "Who?" Nadine started to lose her patience. "Oh for christ's sake...ME!! I'm the one who likes you!!" She yells, but realizes she gave it away. Elliot's eyes grew very wide. Was she admitting the truth? "Did....did you say you...like me? I mean...like me like me?"
"You're not gonna make me answer that are you?" She asked. "No, but...WOO-HOO!! YEAH!! I KNEW YOU LIKE ME, I JUST KNEW IT!! WOOT! I never doubted you for a second babe!!" Shouted Elliot happily as he was doing his little dance. The love life was back on track. He was so happy he did the craziest thing he had in mind. "KISS ME YOU FOOL!!"
"Oh no, not another hug attack!" Nadine thought, knowing that she was becoming aware of that. Elliot happily pounce on her, throwing her back to the ground, but had forgotten what he said before that big pounce. "Wait! Did he just said..." Nadine thought. She had her eyes shut when she knew the big hugging attack was coming at her, but it wasn't no hug.

Nadine open one of her eyes and saw right in front of her Elliot's lips press againest hers, sealed with a big kiss. Nadine gave him a big slap across the face, smacking away to stop the kiss. "ELLIOT!!" She screamed at him madily. "Ouch! What was that for?" He asked, rubbing his sore little slap. "I thought you said you like me."
"Yeah, but did you have to kiss me? GROSS!!" She said spitting out of what's left from her mouth. Boog smile with a hearty laugh.
"You'll thank me someday." Elliot said smiling with a happy laugh. But his smile faded when he remember something. If Nadine did confess her feelings to him, why was she angry when she saw Giselle in the first place? "There's one thing I don't get..."
"What's that?" Nadine asked him. "How come you never told me?" Elliot asked out of wonder. Nadine blush as her face turn red. "I....errr....this is gonna sound stupid Elliot, but I'm a human and you're a deer. I thought it wouldn't work out between us." Nadine explained. " At first your crush on me did creep me out a little, and I always knew you were a nice guy, but when I saw you talking to what's-her-name and found out you were crushing on her, I was...I dunno! I guess I was a little...ugh I hate this word....jealous!"
"You were...jealous of Giselle?" Questioned Elliot.

"Yeah, but...if you want her, I'll understand. You don't need me. Face it! She's deer matieral and I'm...not." Nadine said sadly and began to walk away. To her, it was obviously that he should belong together with her. She didn't understand how it was gonna work out if Ian was still around, but love has their ways. Elliot felt ashamed of himself, but then he stop her in time before she walked too far. He couldn't risk the thought of losing her again if it meant walking out of his life. "Nadine wait! Giselle dump me."
"What?" Nadine said, hoping she was hearing this right. "It's true, she dump me. After you left, she came and told me didn't love me. She never did. She said she only like me as a...a...."
"Friend?" Nadine guessed. "Yeah that." Elliot answered and start to continue. "I'm really sorry Nay. I never knew you were jealous. How could I have known?"
"Wasn't it obvious? I left after I discovered what happen remember?" Nadine told him. "Yeah but...who needs her? Life gets hard but it has it's ups and downs; you just gotta roll with it. I don't care what everyone else thinks and I don't care if you're a human or a deer. I love you just the way you are. I'll always be there for you." Says Elliot. Nadine was touched by his words. "Awww Elliot, that's the most sweetest thing you ever said to me. Thank you!" She said picking him up and gave him a nice hug.

"Your welcome!" He said as he hugs her back. "Does that mean I'm your buckfriend now?" He said flirting at her. Nadine stood there with a humorless tone of face when he said that. "What are you talking about?"
"It means boyfriend in deer talk." Elliot answer to make it more sense and clear. "Don't push it Elliot."

Chapter 15: Our final Goodbye/Epilogue

As the human girl and her two animal friends had celebrate in join for their defeat againest the hunter during open season, the sound of the upcoming truck came in, spreading the dirt around that you can you smell the fog miles away. It was a big old red truck, Boog stare when the truck arrive. The driver step out of the vechine, but the driver wasn't the only one who came in alone. "Nadine?"
"Dad?! What are you doing here?" Said Nadine looking stunned. "I've been looking all over for you. What are you doing here?" Her dad asked. "Ummm...that's kinda a long story. See I--"
"BOOG!!" Said a familar female voice. It was Beth. She marched right forword and hug her beloved bear. Boog snuggle back and return the hug. "Ummm...why is she hugging a bear?" Nadine's dad ask her young daughter. "Oh that's Boog. She raised him as a cub when she used to be a ranger." Beth smiled at Nadine. "Oh thank you for reuniting Boog with me again Nadine. I haven't seen him in a year. Why didn't you tell us you were looking for him?"

"Ummm...I wanted to make it a surprise for you. Surprise!" Nadine said, smiling back. "How could I ever thank you?" The red headed woman ask. "No need to." She said. "Well come on. We gotta get back home. I have our stuff back in the truck." Nadine's dad said. Elliot didn't fully understand. He tugged by the arm. "Nay, what's he talking about?"
"Oh no. I forgot!" Nadine thought to herself when her dad had reminded her about the trip. She look back down at the mule deer sadly. "Elliot, I...I gotta go back...to California."
Elliot's ears flicker, he drop his jaw wide open in shock. "You're a tourist!?" He cried. "I'm so sorry Elliot, the hunting thing got in the way so much, I forgot to tell you I was here on vacation."

Nadine's dad honked the beep inside Beth's truck. "Nadine come on! Are you coming?" He asked waiting for her. "Just a minute dad!" She said back to him. Elliot stare at his beloved Nadine sadly. "Will I ever see you again?"
Nadine sighed. "I don't know....California is too far from here, I thought coming to Timberline would be one of those get-a-ways. It's more like those once-in-a-lifetime opperunites things." She answered. "Oh..."Said Elliot bowing his head down sadly and turn away. "I'm really sorry..."
"Aren't you gonna go? Your old man is waiting for you Nadine." Boog reminded her. Nadine stood there without answering, then came up with an idea. She rushes back over to Beth and her dad. "Dad, could you give me a second? I gotta go do something real quick."
"What is it?" He wonder, but Nadine had no time to answer. She rushes back to Elliot and grabs him by the hoof. "Come on Elliot!"
"Huh? Wait a minute! Where are we going?"
"There something I wanna show you." Nadine told him. What could be so important that was only for Elliot to see? As they got away from Boog and the others, Nadine led Elliot a bit further down into the woods.

The two of them stop. "What did you need to show me?" Elliot asked. "Take a look." Answered Nadine. The scrawny little buck look down and there it was...a dry puddle of mud with a drawing of Nadine and Elliot holding hands together inside a big huge heart. Elliot stare at it. "You did this?" Nadine nodded. "Yeah...I did when I found out I had feelings for you. I wanted to show you before while we still had time together." The breeze blew peacefully as the human and her deer stood in their tracks staring at the mud drawing. A bright pink/purple flower petal blew into the breeze and landed on top of the muddy drawing on the ground. Nadine went down on her knees, sitting next to Elliot. "We better get going. I don't want my dad to wait for us forever. He gets so impatient sometimes..." She said as she was stroking Elliot's furry thick head.

Elliot continue staring then look back at Nadine with a blank look on his face. You can tell he was bottle up with sadness in his face. Nadine wasn't too happy about leaving Elliot behind either. She wish they could spent a little bit more time together. Nadine got up from her knees and began to walk back; Elliot followed closely behind. It didn't take them that long to get back to Boog and the others waiting for them. "Well...there they are." Nadine said as they headed towards them. Boog was the first one to greet them. He wasn't too happy about watching Nadine leaving either. "I guess this is goodbye. I'm gonna miss you guys." She said to them. Boog gave her a big bear hug. "We're gonna miss you too. Come back soon 'kay?" Boog said quietly. "I'll try." She said returning the hug back, then let go. She look down at Elliot to see how he was taking it, but he still didn't say a thing. Nadine couldn't bare to say goodbye to him cause she didn't had the heart to do it. She heave a big sad sighed and was starting to leave, but Elliot grab her by the hand. "Nadine don't go!" He said in a quiet sad tone, burrying his his face into Nadine's arm as he shed a single tear.

"I have to Ellie....my hometown needs me. I can't stay here forever." Nadine said to him. She lifted up his chin and their eyes met. "I can't promise you I'll return, but...I'll never forget you. You've change my life." She said with a sad smile. Elliot nodded and move in closer. "Can I..."
"What?" Said Nadine, wondering what Elliot wanted before she left. She kneel back down again. Elliot put his hooves on Nadine's cheeks, his eyes were still watering. It was hard to get away from the sad look he had on his face. Elliot bit his lip, trying to get the words to come out right, but he couldn't. Instead, he drew in closer and gave Nadine a soft kiss on the cheek. Nadine's face blush from the small gentle kiss, but her eyes had began to get waterly too and she threw her arms around Elliot and wrap him up close for an warm embrace. She also shed down tears from her eyes. "Bye Elliot. Thank you for everything." She said to him and let go to the hug to return to the truck.

Boog and Elliot watch sadly as they saw their one true friend had left in Beth's truck and drove away. Boog put his arm around his partner. "You all right buddy?" Elliot nodded. "Uh-huh." He said wiping the runny tears from his face. "Don't worry Ell...she'll return again...someday." Then Elliot began to break down. "SOMEDAY?! Someday is forever! What if she never returns? We'll never another sharing moment again!" He wailed miserably. "Don't think negative Elliot, you gotta think postive. It's not like can just stow away into her stuff while she..." Boog said, but stop in the middle of his sentence when he had realize what he had just said that was dumb enough to turn into an idea. " Uh-oh!!" "Stow away huh?" Elliot said thinking his mind. He had his idea face and grin at Boog sheepsliy. "Oh no! No no no no! NO! We are NOT going and that's that!" Replied Boog stubbornly.

Meanwhile when Beth had return Nadine and her dad back to Timberline, the two of them had their final goodbye with Beth and she thanked them once more, hoping they would return somebody and drop by for a visit. Nadine and her dad got back to their cabin to pack up their stuff and put them away in the truck. After they got done packing in, they rode off down the long narrow road back home at California. It took about almost a 2 to 3 hour drive back at home just like when they arrive at Timberline. Over the next few days, they were finally back. It was more longer getting back home to going over there. Nadine took her stuff outta her dad's truck and got back inside the house. Home at last! Everything was still the same when she left it two or three weeks ago, but there was nothing in her heart to heal her over her broken goodbye. Nadine went inside her room and left her stuff on the ground and jump into the bed. She had became overly exhausted from the long hour driving, she thought she would never get back home.

Nadine close her eyes to give herself some peace and quiet, but then she heard some strange noise coming from her package. "Ow! Quit moving, you're hurting my side!!"
"You quit moving! I can't move a muscle!!!" Two male voices said agruing insider her bags. The two voices sounded very familar. She slowly got out of the bed and crept on over to see who was in it. Carefully, she open the zipper then out of nowhere. BOOM! Two animals rose outta her bags. "Boog? Elliot?" Nadine cried. "NADINE!!" Cried Elliot in joy. He playfully pounce on top of Nadine, knocking her down to the floor and smother her in kisses.
Boog was still gasping for air. "No...more...bag hiding! Woot! This is the last time I'll be traveling in a case." He said as he was getting out. Nadine push away Elliot from her to get up from the floor. "What are you two doing here?"
"We stow away...it was all Elliot's idea." Boog said pointing at the buck. Nadine state at the deer and the bear. "Wait a minute! Lemmie see if I got straight. You two...stow away? But...what about the animals?"

"Oh don't worry about them, we left Ian in charge." Elliot tells her. "They'll be better off without us."
Boog panted, but cool himself down and smell the fresh air. It has been a long time since he's been inside another human's home. It was just like the one back at Beth's place in Timberline, only more different and not so huge. "I...I don't understand." Nadine said looking confused with a blank look on her face. "Don't ya see? Elliot couldn't live without you, but he made me came too." He said still panting a little bit. "Whew! Nice room you got here. This ain't nothing like the garage I had back at Beth's place." He said taking a look around. Nadine blinked. "You mean...you guys travel all this way back just so you can be here with me?"

Elliot nodded his head. "It was either that or waiting a thousand more years to see you again. Can't you see Nay? We're meant to be together! I don't care how far you are, all I want to do is spend the rest of my life with you. And I'm not gonna let a doe get in the way of my one true love if it means I won't see you ever again. I LOVE YOU NADINE!!" He said jumping into his arms.
"Elliot...you don't know how much this means to me, but...thank you. You've done the most special thing anyone has ever done for me." Nadine smiled hugging her back. Boog smiled at the two of them. "What about me? He's not gonna surivie without the Boogster." He said putting his arms around Nadine and Elliot. All three of them smiled and chuckled.

So there you have it; a lonely teen in need to get away from her miserable past and found more than what she had gotten fore; a friend and a one true faithful lover. Through thick and thin, Elliot and Boog would always be there for their human pal...always.
