Finally, after waiting a long couple of months after the release of Open Season back in January, I"ve finally gotten the chance to get inspired in writing my main OS fanfic I've been wanting to do. This fanfic here was the first one I thought of writing back in 2006 last year when OS came out, but it took me a long time to get the idea back, so here it is, my main OS sequel that takes place a year or so after the movie. Enjoy!
Life Gets Hard
Chapter 1: Meet me in the Meadow/Prologue
Nothing says home like the peaceful beauitful outdoor dangerous woods. It's been one year since our big old main hero Boog, once known as the mighty grizzly, Timberline's famous performing bear, has been living in the woods with his new pal Elliot, who finally had grew back his two old rack of antlers again after waiting a year or so since the great big battle they had againest with hunters, including their main ememy Shaw. Shaw was put into many zoos thanks to Bobbie and Bob, who mistaken him as Bigfoot, but was release after the press found out he wasn't Bigfoot at all. Sadly, he gottan away before Gordy or the cops could lay their hands on Shaw to arrest him to prison where he was going to belong. No one had seen Shaw ever since that day.
But no one had to worry about him anymore. They thought he was long dead, other says he move to another state to escape the small town of Timberline. Were the rumors true? We never knew!
As for the animals back in the forest, McSquizzy, Reilly, the porcupine, the ducks and everyone treated Boog and Elliot with respect with special thanks to helping them saving the woods that day, including Ian and the herd, but Elliot decided to stay with Boog for he knew that his place wasn't with Ian anymore since the day Ian kicked him out for talking to his girlfriend Giselle. Elliot hasn't seen Giselle or Ian ever since the day he decided not to return to the herd, he knew he was happier hanging out with Boog cause his new friend has always treated him with the respect he needed. At first, Boog and Elliot didn't get along on the right foot.....or paw, or even a hoof, but together, they came along their differents and became the best buddies anyone has ever seen.
On one clear find day, the little mule deer roam around in the find grass looking for his bear buddy. "Hey Boog! Boog, where are ya? HEEEEEEELLLLLLLOOOOOOO!!!" He called out. "Hey ya buddy!!" Boog waved as he walked over to greet his little pal. Elliot smiled. "Boogster! So, are we still up for our fun today?" He grined! Boog winked at him. "Sure we are. Meet me at the meadow, noon time." He tells him. "WOO-HOO!!" Elliot cried out, cheering! "The meadow, got it! I'll see ya there." "Great! I'll meet ya there, but be careful." Boog tells him and begins to leave. "The meadow...." Elliot whispers to himself, still feeling excited. The meadow was the best place for him and Boog to have the best time of their lives. They always had fun together at the meadow.
You and me will run and hide, We can walk side by side. You and me, We've gotta' be free. 'Cause that's the only way to be.
And not in the hallow, Waiting for you there though.
Waiting hours for noon time wasn't that easy for little Elliot, but what fun could he had if he didn't wait? So after the hours had long passed, it was noon time. Elliot ran on all fours, reaching to get to the meadow as fast as he can. He zipped past all the animals who were busy playing, having lunch and doing work. Reilly and the beavers were busy working on a new dam after the old one had gotten broken last year. One of the beavers stop working when they saw a small mule deer running. "Hey, where's your buddy tiny?" One of the beavers shouted, wondering if Elliot heard them. Elliot didn't stop running, but he shouted back at them. "We're hanging out at the meadow today!" He calls as he kept on running until he couldn't see a sign of the beavers anymore.
Meet me in the meadow, Where the cottonwoods it rustles in the breeze Meet me in the meadow, Where the cottonwood is rustling in the breeze.
Elliot ran and ran as if the fun was depending on him. He ran past many things and many locations, all expect for the trees he kept crashing into by accident. Trees that were own by McSquizzy and his fury tail clan. "OY!!" Shouts the 20 millons squirrels as they appear from their tree, including McSquizzy. They grab their arcorns and threw them at Elliot, but lucky for him, they missed. He didn't have time to sit around and get hit by their nuts. He had to reach the meadow in time.
At the meadow, where Boog was waiting, it was still noon time but Elliot was running late. If only he had a watch, he check the time, but he wasn't so sure what time it was seeing how Elliot has never been this late for their fun time like this before. "d**n, where's that buck at?" He wonder, tapping his foot as he waited. Then he caught something that was coming his way. "Elliot?" He whispers. It turns out, it was Elliot!! The little deer made it in time and appear to be extremely exhausted.
"I'm....here!" He panted heavily, he fell flat on his bottom patiently as he was slowing trying to catch his breath. "Man, what took ya so long? I waited hours ago!" Boog cries. "Sorry I'm late, but there was nuts, and wood, and a stampade, and....." Elliot says as he was exhaling in and out with his breath. "Whoa whoa, okay enough! I get it. Let's put that behind and have some fun now that you're here." Said Boog. Elliot smiled, he knew Boog would understand even if he did came in running late.
"Sweet! Let's run, on your mark get set....." Elliot says, getting ready for a nice sweet game of racing. But Boog tries to stop him. "Wait Elliot, I......" "1, 2, 3! On your mark, get set.....GO! Last one to get there has to buy me the first woo-hoo bar!!" The mule deer shouts and starts to take the lead in the first run. "Oh, NOW it's on." Boog laughed and begins to follow him in the run.
We can run side by side Never again what we have to hide You and me, we gotta live free
Cause that's the only way to be But not in the hallow Waiting for you there though
Meet me in the meadow Where the cottonwood is rustling in the breeze Meet me in the meadow Where the cottonwood is rustling in the breeze
And I know, You wouldn't have to say please
You and me, we gotta live free I'll meet you underneath our special tree
Both the grizzly and mule deer ran around the meadow thousands of times trying to catch up with one another. But Elliot was the fastest one ever seeing how much a small animal like him can run fast on four small legs, but it wasn't easy for Boog to follow since the bear had still weigh 900 pounds. "Elliot....wait!" Boog panted, almost getting tired. "I....can't....keep....up!" That's when he stoped. "Whew! I think I need to...." Boog pauses when he notice there wasn't a sign of Elliot anywhere at all."Elliot? Elliot!" He calls, hoping the little buck haven't left him behind in the race. He gets up on all two legs and wanders around, hoping he can find him. He calls out his name, but there was no reply.
"Elliot, where are you? I'm scared." He quiver, his tiny legs shaking. He didn't like to be left all alone unless he needed to. Sudddenly, there was a loud cry. "CANNONBALL!!" A loud familar voice scream. Boog looked behind him, he wasn't aware that something crash right into him. It was Elliot. WHAM!! Elliot came in swinging out of nowhere and slam right into Boog. Both the bear and deer went tumbling down off a small hill.
But not in the hallow no Baby you're good to go
Come on
Meet me in the meadow Where the cottonwood is rustling in the breeze Meet me in the meadow Where the cottonwood is rustling in the breeze
Elliot and Boog came to a deep stop as they landed on the ground after their small sliding ride from the hill had ended. Oof! Boog rose up from the ground feeling dizzy. He rub his head. "Elliot, what were you thinking? You could have...." He shouts, but stops when he finds himself a large lake in front of his very own eyes. Boog slowly steps back. "Uhhhh...Elliot, where are we?
"We're at the lake." Elliot answers. "I've never been here before, but I heard it's great! Come on, let's go." He says, but Boog refused to go. "Nah-uh. I'm NOT going there." "Why not? You do know how to swim.....don't ya?" Elliot asks, knowing there was slight a hint that Boog might be afraid of the water. But Boog knew he couldn't lied about it. "Uhhh....not really." He answers, feeling embarassed. Boog may been living in the woods for about a year, but he hadn't got the hang of living like a real bear yet.
"WHAT?! You don't know how to swim?! What kind of bear, are you anyway?" Elliot cries, but sometimes the small buck forgotten Boog wasn't a real bear.....yet. "Oh that's right. You're a city bear." He teased playfully. Boog grunted. "I could get across on that lake if I wanted." He acted stubborn, crossing his arms, as he shook his head. Elliot didn't believe it, he knew the mighty grizzly was afraid of a tiny little water, especially if it came from a lake or even a pond. "Oh...really? Well then big boy, let's see you get across then." "What now? No way! I don't feel like it." Boog stubbornly says, not wanting to go in. "But the only way to get the other side is by crossing that river." "Forget it. I won't do it. We'll have to find another way around. Come on, let's get going." Boog says and turns to leave. Elliot had to think of a plan, crossing the river was the only way to get to the other side of the meadow, how could they find another way around if Boog wouldn't cross? Elliot didn't wanted to break it to Boog that there wasn't gonna be another way to pass unless they get across the river. There was a small amout of silence as Boog kept walking.
He was getting worry. Usually when they leave, Elliot always complain a lot like a whiny baby and talks through out the rest of the journey, but this wasn't like him. Something was wrong. "Uhhh, Elliot? What's..." He asks as he turn his head around, only to be shock when he saw Elliot drowning from the lake. "Boooooggggg!!!" Help, help!!!" Elliot cries, as he was waving his arms around and spitting water out of his mouth.
"Hang on Elliot, I'm coming!!" Boog shouts taking charge. The bear charges into the water, making a big splash, splashing water everywhere! The splash splash water everywhere, it even had Elliot flying out of the pond and landed on the legth of a tree. Boog swam and swam underneath but he couldn't find Elliot. Boog came up to the surface shouting at the top of his lungs. "EEEEELLLLLLLIIIIIOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT!!"
"I'm right there!" Elliot called, waving to him. "Huh?" Boog was confued, he turn his head around only to find Elliot hanging from a tree. "What the....Elliot! How did.... and why am I...." Boog stammers. "But....if you're up there, then how did I....." Boog asks, but was getting awfully confused. He looks down noticing he was floating around in the lake. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" Boog screamed as he swam on his way to land, getting out of the water and into free dry ground. Like wise, Elliot always had to come up with the dumb plans to fool poor Boog. "ELLIOT! I'm gonna killed you!!!" He yelled. Elliot didn't see how Boog was going to hurt him after his plan did so well. "Why bother? You already know how to swim." He says as soon as he got out of the tree.
Boog was puzzled. "What are you talking about?" "Didn't you see? You reach in to save me. I only pretend to drown so you can come into the water." "What!? But that means.....you.....I mean....I was swimming?!?!?!" He cries. Elliot nodded. "Yep! So whatchya say? Go for a little swim now?" "Me? In....in that lake? Uhhh...Elliot, I don't know....." Boog says getting worry about going into the water again. "Come on! A little wet floating liquid won't hurt you, and I'll be right there by your side if you need me." Elliot says, promising he wouldn't have to play another mean trick on Boog again as long as Boog goes into the water. "You serious?" Boog asked, looking amazed. Sure Elliot has made a lot of dumb ideas in the past, but at the end, he was sure helpful. "Ssssure! Isn't that what friends are for?" Elliot says. He hops right onto Boog's back. "Come on, let's ride them up cowboy!!" Boog stare at the water, he wasn't so sure if it was a good idea or not, but Elliot should enough of a helpful support to get him through this after all they've been through. Slowly, Boog steps into the water carefully when Elliot still riding on his back. "Uhh, I don't know if this is a good idea. Maybe we should turn back." Boog tells Elliot. "Too late, you step in the water, you go in the water. Now come on, let's move out. I got my hunger waiting on it and it won't hang on long enough!" Says Elliot.
"Is there food on the other side?" Boog asked. "I don't know, but I heard they got great berry bushes over there. And you can get the clear sign of the view of Timberline from over there!" Elliot explains. This made Boog brought a smile to his face. "Really?! Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" He says and begins to start paddling on the way.
Meet me in the meadow We'll run together til we gone Oooooh Meet me in the meadow And let's fall in love and never ever stop
C'mon Meet me in the meadow Where the cottonwood, they rustle in the breeze
As he was paddling, Boog stops and wants to take a look of what it's like underneath the water. "Uhhh, Elliot? "Yeah?" "Is going under the water safe?" He asked his deer friend. "Absolutely." He tells him. "Are you sure?" Boog asked again "Boog, when was the last time I've ever let you down, hmmmm?" Asks Elliot. "Uhhhhh....." "Don't answer that!" Cries Elliot. "But Elliot....." Boog was going to say. But Elliot kept going on. "Boog, haven't you always wonder what magical beauty the undersea has in store for you?" For once in his lifetime every now and then, Elliot was right. Boog has always dreamt about the wonders the world has to offer, and being under the water was one of them. "You're right, but....promise me you'll hang on?" "Heh, yeah! You think I wouldn't?" "Then hang on tight. And don't let go." Boog tells him. "All right!" Elliot says, holding into Boog's fur as he was still riding on him.
It's where the cottonwood it rustles in the breeze Please... Meet me in the meadow Meet me in the meadow
Boog held his breath and shut his eyes tight and he swam underneath. When he open them, he saw fish swimming around everywhere. He never saw anything more beautiful before in his life. The water felt more crisp and clear then the way it look outside. Elliot smiled watching the beauty of it too. He haven't been able to see the underwater land for a while, it was more beautiful than ever the last time he's seen it. Knowing that Boog was gonna be okay without him, Elliot let go of his fur and swam, looking around at all sorts of things. The rocks, the fish, the seaweed, even the shiny stones there were hiding in the sand. Boog kept swimming, without looking if Elliot was still riding on top of him. Elliot follow Boog and they both kept on swimming. As Boog was reaching to the surface, Elliot grab on to his fur and sat on his back tightly as they both came up to dry wonderful land where the cool crisp fresh air was blewing.
"I did it! I mean.....we did it. Thanks for coming along Elliot, I couldn't do it without you." Boog said as they continue on heading to the side to where the berries and the view of Timberline was going to be. Elliot smiled back at his friend. "Don't mention it."

Thanks bud. Now here's the next chapter to the fanfic, oh and just to let you and everyone else know, this fanfic is basically more of a the N/E pairing and the fact that this is also gonna be rated PG.....for small cuss words and some small mild violence perhaps XD
Chapter 2: Arriving at Timberline
Far from the city of Timberline to the state of California, there was a young lonely 17 year old girl named Nadine. With beautiful long black hair and gorgeous dark brown eyes, this poor girl never had much attention as most people think. As a young girl in her late teens, she didn't had that much friends nor she could never get along with people easily. About 1 to 2 years ago, she used to live with someone that was the most dearist special person that was close to her heart, but sadly those memories were gone. After going through a sad tragic break-up, Nadine moved back to her hometown living with her single mom. Hanging with teens her age wasn't as cool as anyone would else thought of. A lot of people her age pick on her a lot for no reason, even if Nadine didn't do anything wrong.
But that would all change forever so this one special day had arrive. On that special day, Nadine was hanging around in her room minding her own business until her mom came in telling her that her dad was coming in to hang out with her for the weekend. Nadine didn't mind being with her dad once in a while, but it was a pain in the butt seeing how homesick this poor lonely girl could get. When the weekend arrive, Nadine's dad came to pick her up and they rode off. Getting back to his place, Nadine and her dad decided where to go for vacation the next two weeks. Her dad pick up important papers to find the perfect location they could spend their vacation together.
"Hey Dad! Can we go to Timberline?" She asks. Her dad wasn't so familar with that name. "Timberline? Where's that at?" Nadine stratch her head trying to think. "I don't know, but I'd hear it's great. It's a small town with shops, stores and restuarants and they got this awesome campground that's close over there. It's pretty cool. I'd heard they got cheap cabins we could rent there." She explain to her father. Her dad like the sound of this new idea and for once, they didn't have to go to boring old theme parks all the time during their vacation. "All right, Timberline it is then. I'll pick up the the week after and we'll go." He agreed.
"Okay. Could we stay there for.....I don't know.....maybe a week or two?" She asked. "Oh, I don't know. You have to talk to your mom about that and see what she says." Her dad reminded. " 'Kay" Nadine nodded. So after her weekend with her dad was over, Nadine got back home and told her mom about the new trip going to Timberline for the next two weeks. After her weekend with her mom had passed, the next week finally arrived. Nadine's dad arrive at the house in his truck honking. BEEP BEEP!
"NADINE!!" Her mom shouted. "Your father's here! Got your stuff ready?" She shouts once more. "Yeah, I'm ready! Hang on a sec!" She calls back getting her stuff ready in her big bag quicky. After she was done, she grab her things and heads outside and puts her stuff away in her dad's truck. "Ready to go?" Her dad asks. "Yeah, I'm ready." She told him. "Get you get the instructions?" He reminded her. "Got them right here." Nadine said, handing him a piece of paper of the directions she wrote down. Her father looked at the directions carefully. "Okay let's go." He said and they rode off.
It took them 2 to 3 hours to arrive at Timberline and the parking lot was filled with cars and trucks, it took them a while to find a single parking, but it was worth it until they finally found one. Nadine and her dad got out of the truck and grab their things. There they arrive at the cabins, getting the number of the cabin they rented and got a room for their own to stay for their two week vacation. After that, they relax for about an hour and head off to check out the rest of the town. They check out many things, shops, stores, and other kinds of fancy places; they had a big red bus where the tourists got a tour of Timberline.
Nadine and her dad decided to take the bus to see the rest of the tour. There, they met Beth the park ranger. Beth as we recalled, use to perform shows with Boog the mighty grizzy at a local threater, but since the day Beth left Boog to live in the woods, Beth quit her old job and took in a new one was a tourist guide for the all the tourists that were new to the town of Timberline. Nadine and her dad sat in the front row of the seats close to Beth and the bus driver. Beth grab her microphone and made out her her important annoucements, speaking like a true tourist guider.
"Welcome to Timberline! I'm your host ranger Beth." She said. She spoke out through all the rest of the tour as they rode around the town and gave the tourist an inside look on their new hotel and all the neat things that were going to arrive in Timberline soon. After the tour was over, Nadine and her dad got out of the bus and head back around to take more look of the shops before they went back inside the hotel. There, Nadine bump into Beth inside one of the shops. She followed her inside. The big red hair young lady turn and saw the young black hair teen. "Oh...hello! I remember you, you're from that tour bus I was taking over eariler. You're a tourist, right?" She kindly asked smiling at Nadine.
Nadine smiled back a bit. "Yeah, my dad and I are staying here for two weeks. I think I'll probably see you around here more often, seeing how you still work around here. What's your name again? Beth right?" She asked. Beth nodded. "That's right I'm Beth. You've heard of me?" She ask her curiously. "I think someone back at my school said you use to perform live entertainment with some.....bear if I recalled. Is that true?" Nadine wondered. Beth nodded her head again. "Yes....what's your name?" "Nadine." The young teen girl answers. There was a small silence around Beth and Nadine. "Nadine.....that's a nice name. Is this your first time in Timberline here?" Beth asked her. Nadine nods. "How much have you heard about Timberline?" Beth asked her again. "Not much, just the fact that you guys got good prices in renting the cabins for two weeks." Nadine tells her. Beth chuckled sweetly with a smile rose upon her face. "Heheheh, yeah we get new tours every year. We lower down the prices on our renting cabins after my old job ended." Beth sighed. She turns around with her back facing Nadine and pulls back her wallet and open it, there was a small old black and white picture of Boog when she got him as a cub. "I miss my old Boog......" She says, but didn't knew that Nadine was listening.
"Did you said.....Boog?" Nadine stood there, looking confused. Beth closes her wallet and turns back to the teenager. "Oh! Yeah, my old pal Boog. He's the bear I used to perform shows with." Beth said, opening up her wallet again and hands out Nadine pictures of her and Boog from Boog the cub to Boog the big 900 pound adult bear. "Isn't he wonderful?" Beth sighed. Nadine kept looking at the pics. "You miss him huh?" She asks handing Beth the pictures. "Yeah....I do." Beth replied, putting the pictures back in her wallet. A voice called out. "Nadine! Ready to go?" It was her dad. "Yeah I'm coming! Be right there!" Nadine says, calling back. She turns back to Beth. "Well I see you gotta get back with your old pops huh?" She said.
"Yeah....sorry our chat ended. Am I gonna see you again?" Nadine asked. Beth scoffed. "See me again? I've work at Timberline longer than you think! Hey, why don't I take you and your dad for a long hiking trip? It'll be great. I haven't gave anyone a hike in the woods since.....since I could remember!" The park ranger offered. "Sounds great! What time?" "Meet me at the parking lot by 10." Beth said, she reach in her pocket and handed Nadine something. "Here's my card. Call me in case you two show up late. We'll take my car and drive up to the woods where we can start our hike."
"Okay deal! I'll tell my dad about it. We'll meet you after breakfast! Is tomorrow okay?" Beth smiled at her once again. "Sure, just don't forget to come by 10:00 okay?" "Okay good. I'll tell my dad to get up early and have breakfast before we meet you there." Nadine said in agreement. Beth winked. "You got it. See ya tomorrow." She said and left. Nadine stare at her card number in her hand as Beth left. She had never been on a hiking trip before, so she knew it was going to be fun. Little did she knew that along on the way to the hike tomorrow will change something in her life forever.......

Oh god, sorry for not updating for so long in weeks. I totally forgotten about it. Thankfully, after reading the next chapter to Elliotdude's fanfic yesterday, I was able to update this..Okay so here's the next chapter where me and Elliot meet for the first time.
Chapter 3: Elliot meets Nadine
Morning came by the next day. After having a good night's rest early, Nadine got out of bed and rush over to her father's bedroom to wake him up. "Dad, dad get up!" She said gently shaking him. "What?" He groans tiredessly "Dad, get up! Let's go, we have to go meet Beth today." She reminded him. Unfortunately, her dad wasn't so good at remembering everything, so it would had to take him a while to be reminded unless someone had to reminded him things a lot. "Beth? Who's Beth?" He asked still feeling tired. Nadine shook her head, she hate it when she always had to remind him things all the time. "Beth! The lady who we saw yesterday? Ring a bell?"
Her dad open his eyes and thought about it. Why did the Beth name sounded familar? Or did he remember at all about this Beth lady? "Beth? Oh, you mean the one who was at the tour yesterday?" He asked. "YES!" Nadine cried. "And the same one whom we ran into the store too! Well I did....but still, you were there doing....something. I forget." She grined silly. Her dad froze for a quick sec. "Wait...she invited us for breakfast?" He asked looking confused. "Ummm......well she invited us to come to a hiking trip with her, so I told her we met her after breakfast. But we have to hurry quick. I promise her we meet her outside in the parking lot at 10." Nadine said. Again, her dad was being stupidly confused. "10? 10 what? You mean 10am?" He asked. "YES!!!!" She cried out again. "Oh oh! Then we better hurry up quick. Let's go." He said. He flopped out of his bed and begin to get dressed up. Nadine rush into the bathroom getting ready putting on clean clothes and brushing her teeth.
Right after she and her dad left the cabin, they head off to breakfast where they ate at the most finest diner in Timberline. Shortly after their breakfast was over, Nadine and her dad left the diner and begin to head out straight to the parking lot where they met Beth there just in time.
Beth smiled at the new arrivals to meet her and she look at her watch. "Congratulations! You made it just in time! That's a start." She said with a small wink in her eye. "Yeah. We rush as fast as we can after we had breakfast." She said. Her dad stop in towards the middle and shake Beth's hand. "Hi, forgive me if you haven't seen me, but I'm Claude, Nadine's dad." He introduced himself. The red-headed park ranger smiled back at the old man. "Hi, I'm Beth. Nice meeting you and your daughter again sir. So....are we ready to start the hike now?" She said.
Nadine nodded. "Yeah, I have to admit I've never really been on a hike before." She admitted. "Oh good. Then you're in luck. Stick with me and you'll have the adventure of a lifetime!" Beth said back to Nadine. Together, she took Nadine and her father on the trip journey to the forest. Their hike was much more longer than they thought, but none of them grew tired of it. Nadine was enjoying the fresh cool crisp air of nature. It brought back so many wonderful memories, leaving the bad ones out. At this time, she forgotten was it was like being in a forest.
Her dad was too busy listening to Beth as he was listening to the interesting facts and all there was too the woods. While her dad and Beth were busy getting distracted by a lot of tips and facts about nature itself, Nadine stop in her tracks, listening to what might of been a small crack of a tiny branch. She look around. "Huh?" There was nothing going on. She thought she was listening to things, but had a strange feeling something was going. Quietly sneaking away from Beth and her dad, Nadine tip toe away from them to see what was going on. She hear small twigs snapping and all sorts of odd animals sounds.
Creeping around, she stop. And the noises stop too. "Okay, this is getting weird. What's going on here?!" She thought to herself. A small acorn drop from out of nowhere and landed with a small hint that was lying down next to her feet. She looked at the acorn. "OY!!" A noise started. Small leaves came falling from the sky. The sound of screaming was coming by. Nadine move her head up. She screamed. Something was about to land on her. "AHHHHHH!!" She yelped. It came booming on her with a bang. CRASH!
Nadine rub her head. "Ow, what hit me?" She thought. There she found a small scrawny mule deer on her lap. It was Elliot. McSquizzy and his band of squirrels pop out of the trees. "Oy! That will teach ya to mess with de old McSquizzy. Try that one more time and I'll be kicking ya old bahookies!!" The old squirrel said. Nadine saw the squirrels on the tree, but where in the heck did this mule deer came from? And why did it landed on her? "Hey, what's the big deal?" She cried. McSquizzy stared at the human girl, thinking she was one of the hunters trying to hunt them. "Ohhhhh, a human eh? Well then, I guess we'll have to teach ya a lesson not to mess with our trees OR our food. SQUIRRELS READY!!" He ordered.
"Squirrels?" Nadine thought, looking speechless. She hope McSquizzy wasn't gonna be doing what she thought he or the squirrels were gonna do. "OY!" They cried again. All the squirrels grabs their nuts and acorns and they grew them at Nadine. She cover her head as she was getting hit. "Ow. OW. Hey stop it!! STOP IT!!!" She yelled at them. The squirrels pause, holding back their power. "WHAT?!" McSquizzy yelled back at the human. "Why are you throwing your nuts at me? I haven't done anything to you." She cried back. "No....but you will if you don't be leaving your hairless little bahookie behind on outta here!
"What the hell is a bahookie?!" Nadine shouts, not understanding what they were saying with their own squirrel words. "That's squirrel language for booty!" McSquizzy explain shaking his small tushy. "Now run on out of here before I hit ya with more nuts, and take that furry little scawny worthless deer if ya know what's good for you." He shouts. Nadine didn't know what the do with the deer on her lap. She thought Elliot might had been dead or unconcious but he look okay enough to breathe. Just then, fruit landed next to her. Nadine looked at the fruit curiously. "Huh? Where this fruit come from?" She wondered. "OY!" McSquizzy cired once again. "Don't ya be daring to lay a hand on that fruit. It's ours."
Nadine had enough with their stupid bad mouthing words. "Oh shut up!" She say as she goes to picked up the fruit. "I warn ya lassie! Don't dare lay that flithy hand of yours on that fruit or else..."
"Or else what?! You'll throw more nuts at me?!" She scoffed. "Heh, yeah right! I like to see you try!" McSquizzy blew out a loud whistle with his small wee little paws, ordering his pack of squirrels to get more acorns and nuts. "On second thought, I think I better leave." She said. She stop thinking of what to do next, but she couldn't leave Elliot alone for him to get beaten up by an army of 20 squirrels. And the fruit did look fruity enough to eat. So without thinking clear, Nadine grab Elliot, the fruit and a antler laying on the ground she saw and took them, carrying the three items in her arms. McSquizzy lost his cool. "OY! Hurry up you wee little no good brainers! That human's getting away!!"
The squirrels were a little slow hearing their group leader giving out the orders, but they were fast enough to throw acorns at whoever gets in their way. "OY!!" The squirrels threw the acorns at Nadine as she was getting away, but it wasn't that far until she gotten clear away from them to stop throwing more nuts at her. Now with two items and a small mule deer, Nadine saw a small river close to hr. Laying Elliot down gently on the ground, Nadine dip her hands into the water where she splashed it on Elliot's face.
"Ack! Ahhhhh, cold cold cold!!" Elliot woke up startled with the freezing water splashing on his face. He jumps on two legs hopping around, shaking the icy cold water away from his face. "Are you okay?" Nadine asked him. Elliot turned around. There he saw a female human starting at him. Elliot cry out in fear. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" Before he can call out for Boog's name, Nadine grabs Elliot pulling him close to her wrapping her arms around his mouth.
"Shhhh! Quiet! We don't want those squrriels to hear you!!" She whispers aloud, trying to shush him. Elliot struggle from Nadine's arms, trying to breathe. "Can't.....feel.....air!" He gasp loudly. Nadine lets go of her arms, allowing for Elliot to breathe. He stops and turns his head slowly at Nadine. "Wait...how did you know McSquizzy was trying to get me? Do....do you understand me?" He asked. Nadine nodded. Elliot drop his jaw. This was the most weirdest thing that's ever happen. He was now for the first time close incounter with a human who can understand what he's saying. "But but but but but HOW?!" He mumbled. "HOW?! Humans aren's suppose to be speaking to animals! How can you do that?" He says acting mysteriously towards the human. There had to be a reason why this girl can hear him and why she save him from McSquizzy.
"First of all, calm down! And second of all, the talking to animal thing....it's a thing I have." She says trying to act cool. Elliot couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Uhhhh.....what thing? Are you one of those crazy psychic voo-doo people who doweird voo-doo spells on innocent creatures?!" He cried getting worried nearly having a panic attack. "No no no." Nadine says trying to calm him down. "Look you don't understand I'm not psychic." "Then how did you knew I was in danger?" Asked Elliot. "I didn't." Said Nadine. "I heard something going on and you came crashing onto me out of nowhere. What were you trying to do?" She asked, wondering if Elliot was trying to bug McSquizzy and the squrriels or not.
"Getting a fruit from their tree." He answered. "You mean this?" She asked showing him the fruit she found that was lying next to her. Elliot gasped. "YES!! The fruit!! Finally!!" He cries with joy, grabbin the fruit away from Nadine's hands. He hug the fruit close to his face as he was rubbing it with his hooves. Nadine look at the deer strangely. This was the most weirdest animal she had ever encounter before. Not shortly long after Elliot's joyment for the fruit he finally gone, Nadine notice she still had the antler with her. She look back with a quick notice the deer had an missing antler. She look at the antler again wondering if it had match his old rack of antlers on his head.
"Ummm, excuse me, but uhhh....is this yours?" Nadine asks showing Elliot the antler. Elliot stare at the antler wide eyed. It look a lot like his rack of antlers he had, or at least...he thought he still had two of them together. He scoffed rolling his eyes. "Nah! That can't be my antler cause I got--" He says as he was turning to the river to see his reflection. But he stop and gasped. He only had one antler left. "AHHHHH!! MY....IT'S.....WAHH! I'm a uni-horn!! Oh not again!! NOOOOOO!!" He wailed. "I'm hideous. I'm a monster!!" He sob. "Don't look at me, don't look at me!"
"Dude, what are you talking about? It's only an antler. It will grow back." Nadine said. Elliot stop sobbing. It was like this missing chuck of antler from his head was the last thing that was important to him....other than being kicked out of Ian's herd. "Only an antler? ONLY AN ANTLER?! Do you know how long it took me to grow back my last two? A VERY LONG TIME!!" He shouts. Nadine step back away from his shouting. "Okay okay, I get it. No need to yell." "I'M NOT YELLING!!!" He shouts back. Elliot's anger raging face being to die down. He stop to look at Nadine's sweet innocent brown eyes. They were the most beautiful thing he had ever saw. He continue staring her at the face. Then....he frowned. His hung his head down and look away, not wanting her to see him cry. He sob again out loud.
Nadine gently place her hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry. It's gonna be okay." She said, leaning down on her knees. Elliot did not move. Most of the time he thought humans were very dangerous to be around, including Shaw, but he didn't felt afraid of Nadine. He still there on his tracks with Nadine still behind him. He didn't move a single muscle or bone in his scrawny little body. Why didn't he run away? Why was this girl being nice to him all of a sudden? He wonder. There were so many questions floating around in Elliot's mind, he wonderlessly got trap in his own train of thoughts, not speaking a word out loud.
He felt safe and warm with this human's touch on him. It was the most wonderful feeling he ever had before. Nadine grab the antler from the ground and look at it, but Elliot still didn't move. Nadine was quiet too, not sure if Elliot was still listening to her or not, but she wasn't saying that much for she thought he was trying to ingore him, not knowing that he wasn't. She place the antler back down on the ground and slowly pulled Elliot close to her, petting him on the head.
"I think you look cute without it. Even with a single antler, you look aborable." Nadine said still stroking his smooth thick fur. "You....you really think so?" Elliot asks smling, enjoying being petted by her. "Yeah." She said. She stood there quietly as she was still petting little Elliot. "So uhhh...you have a name?" She asked. Elliot jump back turning around looking straight at her. "A name?! Of course I have a name! We all do!" He said. He offered her his hoof for a handshake. "I'm Elliot and you are...." Nadine stood there silently at Elliot. She never shooken an animals's paw or hoof before, but like wise, it was the same as any other handshake, just like shaking a human hand.
"Nadine." She say telling his name as she shook his hoof. "Nadine huh? That's a pretty name." He smiled awakardly with a small blush. Nadine smiled back the deer. "Thanks....Elliot. Can I called you Ellie?" She asked. "Ellie?" He said under his breath. He bust out in laughter holding onto his stomach as he rolled around on the ground. "Hahahaha, Ellie! That's a funny name!" He said still roaring loud with his laughs. He stop and pick himself up. "Sure you can call me Ellie. No one has ever given me a nickname before." He winked.
"Nadine!" A man voice called. Elliot ran behind Nadine. "YIKES! What was that?" He trumbled. "Relax, it's only my dad." Nadine said. "That reminds me, I gotta get back to my hike. Bye Elliot." She said. She gave Elliot a quick pat on the head and took off. "Wait, Nadine!!" He called, but the human was already heading off back to her hike where she was still in. Elliot stand there, watching her leave. He still thought about the nickname. "Ellie. Hmmmm...still, nothing beats better than the old Incredible Mister E." He said. He skid daddle on his way to go meet his trustwrothy pal Boog with a big smile on his face. He couldn't wait to tell Boog that he met a human face to face.

Aww!! Poor Elliot!! How dare those squirrels do such a thing to such a little guy?! He's so vain though... Crying over an antler made me go "awww!!"... as did the safe feeling he got from, well, you. This sounds like it'll be a silly story. XD

Thanks guys. All right here's the next update on Life Gets Hard.
Chapter 4: Shaw's Return
Boog wander on his own in the forest wondering where Elliot was. He walk north, south, east, west, all over the places he knew of, but wasn't a track of Elliot anywhere; not even a mark. "Dang, where's that dumb buck at? He better not be having his head stuck on the ground or something." He thought to himself. Boog arrive at a cool clearing. A place where the river had the most cleanest water you can drink and the pines of the trees were as cool as the fresh cripsy air itself. Boog sat down on a log, giving himself a break. He was going to rest on the log when he heard a familar voice calling his name. "Booooooogggggg!"
"Elliot?" Boog turn his head. There came his scrawny little mule friend, rushing towards him. Elliot stop to catch his breath. "Boog! You wouldn't believe what happen!"
"Elliot, where ya been? I've been waiting for you at the meadow 4 hours ago! You're late.......again!" Boog says angerily. Elliot didn't had time to aplogize. He wanted to tell his partner something important.
"But Boog, don't you wanna....." "No! I don't wanna hear what happen to you on the way! You're late! This is the second time you've done this to me!!" Boog said! Elliot try to explain. "But Boog......" "You can't show up late like this everyday. What happens if I....." "BOOG!!" Elliot intterupted. "Let me explain!!!" Before Boog was gonna say another word, he saw a fruit Elliot was holding. "Hey is that fruit you were talking about last week?" He pointed at it.
Elliot held up the fruit to Boog. "Uhhhh....yes, I was just gonna say that." "Let me guess. You came all this day to tell me you were late because of THAT?!" Elliot felt dumbless. "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........" Boog groaned. "Ugh, forget it! Why you got only one fruit?" Elliot was getting tired of hearing Boog complaining about arriving this late. "Can you let me explain?! I got something important I wanted to say!!!!"
Boog sighed. "There better be a good reason why he's late!" He said to himself. But it couldn't help to hurt but wonder why. "Okay Elliot.....why were you late?"
Elliot took a deep breath and let it out. "Boog, the most amazing thing happen! I saw.......the beauty....of a girl!!" Boog couldn't believe what he was hearing. He hope he wasn't talking about Giselle. "WHAT?! Aye no, don't tell me you were late because of Ian's girl. Elliot what am I gonna do with you?!"
"Boog, you're not listening to me. I didn't say it was Giselle. It was a......." "Another doe?" Boog guessed. Elliot look at Boog as if he thought he was joking. "Noooo.....better. It was a....now don't laugh.....a human." Boog froze. A human!? Since when has a deer fell in love with a human!?!?!? The bear laugh out loud. "Hahahahahahaha! I get it, nice one Elliot. Woo-hoo! You had me there." He says.
But this wasn't a joking matter. "No I'm serious." He said. Boog stop laughing. "Elliot....that has got to be the most STUPIDEST excuse I've ever heard!!" He yelled. Elliot thought Boog was gonna hurt him. He whimpered. "No, I'm not kidding!!! Please, I beg of you. SPARE ME!!"
Boog crossed his arms. He wasn't buying this. "Haha. Cornflake, I think your arrival to our fun time is messing up that little head of yours."
"Oh really?" Elliot said. "Then how would you explain this?" He says pointing to his missing antler from his head. There had to be a good reason why this buck was now once again having a single antler around. "Uhhhhh....you got hit by a truck?" Boog guessed again.
"Noooooo....she save me Boog." Elliot answer. "Save you? From who?" Boog asked "From McSquizzy!" Elliot said. Boog always knew McSquizzy was the most annoying animal in the forest, but there was no way a HUMAN could ever save Elliot from him. "McSquizzy? Are you serious?" He asked, still not believing it. Elliot continued on with his story. "I was trying to get that fruit from McSquizzy's tree, when all of a sudden...I saw the eyes of an angel." Elliot sighed romantically. Boog laughed again. "Hehehe okay I think we need to put you in another herd Elliot. You're losing it."
"I swear! She's got the eyes of a goddess." Elliot told him. "So? That doesn't prove why you got yourself another single rack of antlers." Boog pointed out. "I landed on her Boog.....hard! "Ew!" Said Boog. "Not that kind of hard!!" Yelled Elliot, knowing that Boog was probably thinking of it the wrong way. "And I don't suppose she broke your antler on purpose?" Boog thought. "Uhhh no, I told you. I landed on her......I fell from McSquizzy's tree. "That explains a lot." Boog mumbled. "What was that?" "Nothing." He said.
"Best of all was.....she called me Ellie." Elliot smiled, he sighed out romantically. He thought it was the cutest nickname he ever gotten from someone else. Boog laughed again, only this time he laughed out loud. "Ellie? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! She gave you a girl's name?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" "Hey it's not funny!" Elliot stated. " I think it's cute." "Yeah whatever. What's this girl's name?" Boog asked. "Nadine." Elliot said. "Do you know anything about her?" "Ummm....she's got a cute name." Elliot said, but that was as far as he got. Boog thought this was the most weirdest story he ever heard. It's not like everyday a mule deer like Elliot can wind up meeting a human he falls in love with.
Meanwhile on the far side of the forest, a blue clean truck was riding by. It drove past the flowers, almost running over the animals, then it stop on the top side of the cliff. The door flew open and there stood a tall ugly man holding a new big gun. It was Shaw, coming back from his return. The man no one had seen for a year. He bought a new gun and a new truck after his last one were ruin by Boog and the gang. His most price beloved old gun Lorraine was replaced by the same gun that look like Lorraine, and this gun of this had more gunpower than his last gun. He called his new gun Lorraine the second.
Shaw took a peak at the landscape. It was beautiful, but what he wanted more than beauty itself was to get revenge on Boog after what he did to him. He took out a pair of binoculars from his pocket and seek in what's in store for him. "Come on bear! I know you're out here somewhere." He said still looking for the bear and the deer. He moved his binoculars around to see if he can spot that so called enemy of his. There he spotted Boog talking to Elliot at the tall clear grass. "Ah-ha!! Hehehe, perfect!" He sneer. He put away his binoculars and grab Lorraine the 2nd. He pointed his target carefully.
"Easy now, just lightened it up. Two heads, one bullet." He says, pointing his target close to where Boog and Elliot were together. His finger slowly moving to pressing the aim button. BANG!!" The gunshot flew, but miss the target. Boog and Elliot jump outta their furs by shock. "Ahh! What was that?" Boog said, shaking. Elliot turn and saw a new looking truck by the top of the cliff, there he saw a familar looking face with a new gun. "SHAW!!!" Elliot pointed, screaming.
"Almost got them Lorraine the 2nd!!" Shaw cheered. "No way those two legged freaks are gonna escape us this time! Haha!" He hop back into the truck and drove off.
"He's coming this way! What do we do? WHAT DO WE DO?!!?!" Elliot cries hopelessly. "Run!" Boog told him. "Good idea. This way!" Elliot pointed and runs off. "Elliot! That's the wrong way!" Boog growled. Elliot didn't listen. He kept running as if this was the last time he was going to live. Suddenly, he stops. Shaw's truck was heading right towards him. Elliot screamed and turn the other way around. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" Boog ran too, following Elliot.
Shaw drove and drove, chasing after Boog and Elliot throughout the forest. Elliot hop into Boog's back, riding him like a cowboy. With Elliot on his back, Boog continue running. Shaw opens the window from his truck door and grabs Lorraine the 2nd, going to try and shoot Elliot and Boog, but the deer and the bear had vanished. "What the?!!" He try to stop, but came down tumbling from a deep hill. That's where Boog and Elliot were. They slide down the hill safely and kept running. Shaw and his truck came down with a blooming crash. "Keep running. I think he's on to us!!" Elliot ordered.
Shaw jump out of his track. "Oh d**n! Those animals are gonna get it now. This is gonna cost me a fortune!" He grumbles angerily. First his old truck had sunken from the water rafting side last year and now his new one was destoryed from sliding down off a deep hill. He shouts at Elliot and Boog as he saw them making their getaway. "Hey bear! This isn't the last time you and your friend are getting away from me! I'll get you for this!!!"

OMG! Almost the end of June in more one week and I haven't posted the next chapter in a loooooong time! I'm so terribly sorry guys, I was so caught up with everything, I completely forgotten. I'm gonna try my best to update more chapters soon after I graduated from school this week. That's a promise!
Chapter 5: Hiding out with Nadine
"Is he still onto us Boog?" Elliot cried. For hours now, Boog and Elliot were running. By the time they reach the end of the forest, Boog arrive to a stop. He turn around. "Whew! Not a sight of him anywhere. That was close." He said. He drop down flat on his butt to give himself a rest. Elliot hop off on his back. "Boog where are we?" He asked his partner.
"Give me a mintue. I'm trying to rest." Boog said. Running for a long hour gave this heavy bear a big sweat. For someone his size, Boog wasn't the fastest running animal in the forest, not even with that much heavy weight he carry around in his body. Finishing his short break, Boog got up on two legs and took a peak. "Hey! It's Timberline!" He said. It was true, standing on the top of the cliff gave the mighty grizzly and the one horn antler deer a clear peak of the view far from here. Thus, it gave Elliot a clever plan.
"Boog I have an idea! Why don't we ummm....." "Take a visit from Timberline?" Boog guessed. "Hehe, you read my mind." Fortunately, it was not the best idea Elliot can ever think of, but it was only idea he ever thought of all day. "Uhhh.....I was thinking more like.....hiding somewhere away from Shaw."
"What?! Now wait, hold up! How are we suppose to do that?" Said Boog. Elliot rub his small furry goatee. There had to be a better place in Timberline he and Boog can hide from Shaw until they figure out a way to get rid of him. "I got it! The perfect hideout....." He said.
Meanwhile back at Timberline, Nadine and her dad head back to their cabins after coming back from their morning/afternoon walk with Beth. Nadine try to explain to her dad why she disappear on them eariler, but he wouldn't listen. Going back to their cabin, Nadine went to her bedroom to rest. Having nothing better to do, she sat down on her bed and watch TV. That was.....until she heard a noise coming from the window. Tap....tap.....tap!
Nadine turn off the TV and flop out of the bed, opening the window to see who it was. She stick her head out of the window to see what was going on. A small flying rock suddenly came and hit her on the head. "OW!! What the....."
"Sorry honey!!" A familar voice called from down under. Nadine look down. It was Elliot...and he had a big grizzly bear with him. "Honey? Okay, since when did you ever gave a human one of those mushy-gushy love names?" Boog said to him.
Elliot look up at Nadine and waved to her. "She saw me Boog! Quick, hurry up and toss me up into that window there." He said. Boog didn't thought it wasn't a good idea. So instead of delining it, Boog grab Elliot and toss him straight to the window where Nadine was still peeping from. "CANNONBALL!!" Yelled Elliot. SMACK! He slam himself straight into Nadine, knocking her back away from the window.
"What's up gorgeous?" Elliot grin. Nadine shove him away from her lap and rose up from the ground. "Elliot! What are you doing?! You're not suppose to be here!"
"Aw come on! I can't see my sugar pie more than once?!" Elliot said fluttering his eyes at her. Was this crazy buck flirting with her? Ewwwww.
This was a scary thought. Who knew a small scawny animal can be in love with a human?! And not just any human....but a female human! Nadine step back away slowly from the silly deer. "Uhhh.....Elliot." Elliot gave her the sad puppy dog eyes. "What?! No Ellie?" He whimpered, trying to act like a dog. "She's probably had a enough with that nickname of yours Elliot." Boog said, trying to crawl inside the window. Nadine jumped back, screaming in fear. AHHHHHHHHH!! Her scream almost made Boog fall out of the window. "I'm coming Boog." Elliot said, rushing to help his partner out. He grab Boog's arm and with a slight big push, he help pulled Boog out the window. It wasn't easy trying to pull a big 900 grizzly bear from a window. Boog cam tripping out of the window and nearly crush on top of Elliot with a big oof!
Elliot tries to pull himself out alive from Boog's sweaty old big fatty stomach. "Next time, eat less food will ya?" He said. Boog move himself up, not wanting to crush him anymore as he already is. "Excuse me? I'm the not one who's crushing on a....." He said, but stop and stares at Nadine. The frighten girl cool herself down. "Sorry about that. " She aplogzies. "What? You never seen a big bear before." Boog says acting all sarcastically.
"Ummm.....actually.....the last time I saw a bear was.....a year ago....I think." She said. It was almost too good to be true.....yet it was strange. Boog found it hard to believe that this girl hasn't seen a bear more than a year. "What do you mean?" He asked. Nadine didn't know how to put it. She wanted to try and explain why, until Elliot came and step in.
"Forget him. Listen Nadine, you gotta help us! Please I'm begging you!!" He cried. "Help you with what?!" She asked, not udnerstanding what was all the commotion. "Our old emeny came back to hunt us, and we need a place to hide." Boog said. "It wasn't the best idea we had, but uhhh...."
Elliot look back at Boog giving him a shocking glare. "What do you mean not OUR best idea?" He said. "Okay, fine it wasn't Elliot's best idea but....." "BOOG!" Whined Elliot. "WHAT?!" Boog roared back. Nadine didn't want to get in trouble if her dad found out she had two wild animals in her room. What was she going to say if he found out? "Nadine!" Her dad's voice called.
Nadine worry. She tries to rush the insane fight from Boog and Elliot. "Shhhh! Guys keep your voices down. I can't let my dad see you." Boog and Elliot stop looking back at Nadine with a big stare. "Hold up! Did you said your dad was here?" "YES!" She whispers gritting her teeth. "See Elliot? I told you this was a bad idea." Just when Elliot was about to fight back to Boog with big words, footsteps were coming to the door. "You guys gotta hide. HURRY!" She whisper again.
"Nadine?" Her dad said coming to the door. He slowly taps the door and opens it. "Hi dad." Nadine waved to him nervously. Her dad stare at her and the room. Something odd was going about, but he couldn't put his finger on it. "What's going on. I heard voices coming from your room."
Truly, for a bear and a deer, it can be easy for two animals like them to make such big comments out loud. Nadine shook her head. "No....there weren't any voices." She said with a small nerveous laugh. " The uhhh....neighbors.....outside were being loud. You know how they are, noisy neighbors. Hehehe." She said. Nadine's dad thought she was hiding something. Something in her room didn't feel right....or look right. It was all getting confused. "Uhhh...okay. Do you want to come and eat later?"
"Ummm...I'll let you know later. Right now, I'm not hungry. I uhhh...I'm kinda tired." "You wanna go for a walk later?" Her old man asked. "Nah I'm good. I just need a break, that's all." Nadine replied. "Okay then. I love you." He said and close the door. Whew! That was a close call. Nadine thought to herself. Right after he left, Nadine open the closet door and let Boog and Elliot out. "AIR.....NEED AIR!!" Elliot gasped flopping flat down on the floor.
"Next time......put conditioning airs on will ya?!" Boog cried gasping for air too. "Sorry guys, but I can't have you staying here with me." Nadine said. Elliot stop breathing. How can she say such a thing? After the good thing she did for saving his life eariler. "WHAT?! But honey poo....."He said, rushing to her throwing his arms around her legs hugging her. "Don't call me that!" Nadine said, moving him away from her. "She's right Elliot. We can't stay here." Said Boog, getting back up on his legs. "NOOOOOO!! Elliot wailed. "Please you gotta help us Nadine! I don't wanna be mounted on a wall!" Nadine tosses her hands around Elliot's mouth tight. "Shush! Do you wanna get me into trouble?! I can't let you guys stay....not with my dad around! He's gonna kill me if he finds out we have two animals in the house!" Boog grabs Elliot away from Nadine and toss him back down. "Listen ya big cry-baby, the girl's right! Either we get outta here now or I'm gonna have to move you outta here myself!"
"NOOOO! I wanna stay!" Elliot whined. "SHUT UP!!" Nadine yelled, smacking him on the back of the head. "Ouch!" "Thank you uhhh....what's your name again?" Boog asked the human girl. "Nadine." She answered back. "Thanks Nadine. I could have taken better care of that myself. You got a good punch." Boog said smiling. "Thanks....I guess. And you are....." "I'm Boog, the big cry baby's friend." "Hey, I'm NOT a cry-baby!" Elliot yelled, starting to get pissed. "You act like one!" Boog snapped.
"Enough already, the both of you! Now will you just leave already before my dad punishs me?" Cried the tired frustrating human, who was now having a hard time with the two animals. For a deer and a bear, they were sure good at agruing a lot.
"Nadine, you can't let us go out there! We'll die! Please, you HAVE to let us stay! I need you!" Elliot exclamied! He drop to his knees, begging for Nadine to have him and Boog stay. He wouldn't stop until she takes yes for an answer. Finally....Nadine gave in. She sighed. "Fine! I'll let you stay, but not when my dad's around."
There was joy once again for happy little Elliot. "YIPPIE! We're staying, we're staying!" He sang doing his little small happy dance. "So what do you suggest we do now?" Boog asked, wondering what can he and Elliot can do while Nadine's dad was inside the cabin with her. "Hiding you guys is gonna be a pain. I'm gonna have to let you two stay outside until my dad leaves the house on his own, but it's not gonna be easy." Elliot stop doing his small happy dance. "What?! What do you mean? Hiding us can't be a big deal." "I think she's talking about her old man Elliot." Boog said, taking a good guess. Nadine nodded. "Yeah, he's right. Sometimes he won't leave the house unless I go with him. I'm gonna have to figure out a way to get him out without me coming with him, but for now I'll hide you guys in here for today in case he tries showing up here in my room again. " She said.
"SWEET!" Elliot cries. Happiness has come back to him again. He starts doing his happy dance again. "Oh yeah! I'm staying in the cabin, I'm staying in the cabin."
"Uhhhh.....one problem. How are you gonna hide ME? I'm the big guy around here." Boog asked. "No problem, I'll hide you in the closet or under the bed." Said Nadine. "I prefer the bed better." Said Boog. Elliot stops doing the dance and looks at Boog with a gleem smile on his face grimming slightly. "Told ya this was the best idea I ever had." He said, givinng him a big wink. Boog rolled his eyes. "Yeah right. Whatever." He said.

Here's my next chapter. It's where Elliot goes a little uhhhh....out of a control with a sugar problem he doesn't know til later on at the end of the chapter.
Chapter 6: The donut express problem
"Nadine!" Her dad calls, coming through her bedroom door again. He stood aside opening it. "I have to go to market. I got plently food in the kitchen for you if you're hungry. Don't open the door for anybody."
"Don't worry dad. I got it cover." She said. Nadine watch as her father left to get his things and leaves the cabin. She stood by the window seeing his him riding off on his truck right away. After he left. Nadine close off the blinders to the windows and seeks back into her room. She had everything she can to prepared for Boog and Elliot to stay for a couple of hours. "Is he gone?" Boog asked as he and Elliot came out from this hiding spot; the bedroom window.
"Yeah he's gone. You two have enough hours to relax here until he gets back. I got a lot of food in the kitchen if you guys are hungry." Said Nadine.
"There's food? AWESOME! I'm straving!" Said Elliot as he got out from the window. "I'm gonna go use the bathroom. In the meantime, make yourself at home." She said to Boog and Elliot. Once she left, Elliot move around back and fourth to check out her room before going to the kitchen to eat. "Oooh what's this?" He said, pointing out to the things he saw that look very impressive. "Elliot, what are you doing? Get off on that." He cried. Elliot bounce high up and down on her bed. "So soft....not as soft as your bed back at the garage, but fun. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!" He cries, having a good time. It was the most funnest bed he had ever jump in. Boog tries to grab the little one horn buck, but he hop off the bed before he can catch him.
He try to keep Elliot away from Nadine's things, but the buck was too fast for him. Everywhere around the room, he kept going frontways and sideways, touching all sorts of things there was around the room. He peep inside the drawers, touch the little stuff there was. There was no stopping him.
"ELLIOT!!" Shouted Boog. "Will you knock it off! This is no time for playing. We gotta figure out a way to stop Shaw before he comes huntin' for us!"
"But Boog, look at all this neat stuff. She doesn't have these cool things like you did back at home." Said Elliot.
"If nay nay founds out you're going through her personal stuff, I......." Elliot stopped. First he gave Nadine a nickname, now Boog was giving her one too? "Nay....what's nay nay?" He laughed, acting like a small jerk.
"Awww forget it. I'm going to the kitchen." He said, leaving the bedroom. "Hey wait up!" Elliot says, going after him. "I ain't going back to the forest on an empty stomach!"
Boog ingore Elliot as he went to the kitchen. There he saw a bag of nacho-cheese flavor doritos on top of the fridge and next to the sink was a pink box filled with donuts inside.
"Hmmmm...wonder what's inside here." Boog said, opening the fridge door. He sniffed his nose, looking to see what he can find to eat. "Hey hand me that bag of chips from the top will ya?" Asked Elliot. "You get it! I'm busy here!" Says Boog, trying to look for food to eat without having Elliot to bug him. Elliot wasn't impressive from the way Boog was ingorning him. "He must be too hungry to talk to me....." Thought Elliot. If Boog wasn't going to help him get food, he might as well do it on his own. He wanted to get Nadine to help her, but she was probably too busy waiting her time in the bathroom checking on her looks.
Elliot took a small sniff. What can he eat? He look around in the kitchen, there he saw a pink box just laying there next to the sink. Elliot open the box. It was filled with all sorts of different flavor donuts. Elliot never had a donut before, but they look absolutely delicious, all cover with sweet sugary goodness. Elliot took a chocolate donut out of the box covered with sweet gooey yummy fudge around it with sprinkles added.
He sniffed the donut. It smelled so incredibely good he took one big bite out of it. The next thing he knew, Elliot became hooked. But something strange happen....Elliot felt weird, felt like he was under control by the donut's creamy fatty sugarly substances.
He mumble. "Deep......fried....sugarly......DONUTS!!" He shouted. Boog took a small cup of vanilla pudding out of the fridge, dipping his claws into it and smacking it close to his lips. He noticed something odd about Elliot's strange behavior. "Hey, you okay bud?" He asked.
Elliot was in a out-of-control trance. "Donuts.....must have more DONUTS!!" Shouted the crazy deer. He stuffs the donut inside his mouth without taking his time to chew it carefully. Then he grabs the whole entire box stuffing himself with the rest. "Elliot, calm down! Enough with the donuts!!" He snapps, trying to grab the pink donut box away from him. Elliot went off like a crazy maniac. "DONUTS!! I NEED MORE DONUTS!!" He shouts. Spats of drool were coming out of his mouth like a rabid animal. He made creepy strange moans only a dead monster can act. He slams the box on the floor and jumps on top of the table, looking for more donuts.
Nadine came out of the bathroom. "What's going on?" She asked. She gasped, staring at Elliot. He was turning into a psycho craze monster. "DONUTS!!!" He yelled. The little mule deer ran and crashed through the glass window, running in hopes to find more donuts he can lay his hooves on.
Nadine freaked out on the crash window. "THE WINDOW!! My dad is gonna killed me!" "Never mind that! We gotta stop Elliot!" Cried Boog. "What happen to the donuts!?!?!" Shouts Nadine, staring at the mess on the floor. She picked up the pink box. There was nothing there but crumbles, half big pieces of chunkin' donuts, and drool everywhere.
"Uh-oh. You don't think that Elliot......" Said Boog. The bear and human stare face eye to eye. It was the donuts who made Elliot go wild like a mad crazy person. "We have to stop him!!"
Meanwhile in town, Elliot ran in fours legs zipping fast past humans and their cars. He crashed into a donut store. "IT'S DONUT TIME!!" He laughed manicly. The people in the donut store shriek in fear. "AHHHHH!!!" Men, women and children of all size and ages ran around in terrior screaming as they took outta the store. The manager and the employees hide in the kitchen. Elliot brust through the doors. "HEEEEERRRRREEEEE.....ELLIOT!!" He smiles evilly. "It's the mad crazy deer! It...it....it's got rabies!!!" One of the employees shouts. Elliot walk closely one step at a time....closer to the employees. "Hand me the donuts......"
"I'm calling the animal department!!" One of the employees said. He runs from the group, getting a head turn as he was about to reach the telephone, but Elliot pounce on him like a wild jungle animal wanting to kill its prey. "I WANT MY DONUTS!!" He yells, bouncing up and down. The employee cries for help as Elliot attack him. He pulls and yanks on the man's clothes, screaming and crying out "DONUTS!! I WANT MY DONUTS!! HAND ME THE DONUTS!!" He yelled.
The manager comes to the aid just in time to save one of his employes. "Take that, you messed up deer!" He says, spraying Elliot with a hoze filled with glaze people used to put on their glazed donuts. "Aaaaaahhhh!!! My eyes!!" Elliot screams, covering his face from the spray hot gooey glaze he was getting shoted at. No way a spraying hot burning glaze hoze was gonna stop him from getting donuts. He jumps on top of the manager's face and grabs the hoe, spraying him back. "HELP!!"
The employees grabs stuff to save their manager and threw stuff at Elliot. A jar fulled of jelly, powered sugar, milk, butter, cream, and dough. Boog and Nadine arrive at Timberline to see people running for their lives outta the donut store. Boog busts in the doors to save his friend "I"m coming Elliot!" Nadine tries to stop him. "Boog don't go in there! Stop!!" She follows. Boog crashes right into the kitchen roaring. He growled at the manager and the employees, showing his anger bear side. "BEAR!!!" They yelled and they ran out the back door. Boog saw a small dirty mule deer covered in all sorts of donut ingredient. Thinking Elliot was going to attack back, Boog needed to find a way to snapp him out of it. He finds a water hoze. "Sorry Elliot, but this is for your own good!" He replies. He turns on the watering hoze and sprays Elliot, slaming him hard on the wall. Elliot was knocked out from the hard dazed crash and face landed on the floor.
Nadine came in. Worried, she rushes to Elliot's side. "Elliot, are you okay? Talk to me!!" "Buttermilk biscuit!" Mutterd the dizzy messy mule deer. He passed out before saying another word. "Nades, I am soooo sorry. I don't know what came over him." Boog said, owning an aplogizy. He felt bad, thinking it was his fault that cause Elliot to shoot off like an insane maniac.
"It's not your fault Boog......you didn't knew it happen to him." Said Nadine. "Remind me to keep him away from the donuts from now on." Replied the big grizzly. Nadine sighed. She hope Elliot was gonna be okay, but she was more concerned to what her father was gonna say if he saw the busted window. How was she gonna explain this to him? Telling him that a wild mule deer went madly insane and crash the window?! But she couldn't blame Elliot for that. It was the donuts that cause him to be like this. Later that same afternoon, Nadine took Elliot to the veterinarian to give him a check up. Boog waited patiently outside, hoping his best friend was gonna make it.
6 hours had passed and Nadine came out with Elliot in her arms. "What did he say? Is he gonna be all right?" Boog asked worrily.
"He should....the doctor gave him a blood shot and said to have him stay away from donuts for the rest of his life." Answered Nadine. "Why didn't you tell me he had a sugar donut problem?" "How do I know? I'm not a psychic!" Cried Boog. Nadine sigh, shaking her head in disapointment. "Never mind. Here take Elliot." She said handing the unconscious mule deer to the big mighty grizzly bear and starts to head on off home back to the cabin.
"Where are you going?" Boog asked. "I have to get back to the cabin before my dad gets back." Nadine said. "He won't be happy about the broken window, but I'll try to give him the best excuse I can give him."
Moments later, back at the cabin Boog walk Nadine back home to the cabin still carrying Elliot in his big heavy strong arms. They saw a familar truck next to him. "Oh crap! My dad's home!"
"NADINE!!" Yelled her dad who was inside the cabin. Boog hide right when her dad came out busting through the door madly. "What the hell happen to the window?!" He angerily yells, pointing to it.
Nadine's legs quivered. "Dad, I can explain......" Her dad grabs a hold of her arm and pulls her inside the cabin. Boog watch hopelessly as he saw from the window Nadine and her dad yelling at each other. Screaming, yelling, cursing and hitting.....Boog couldn't look away from what he saw. He may not know Nadine that well, but he feels like he can trust her as much as Elliot trusted her back. What's a bear to do? He heard a loud slam coming from one of the doors inside the cabin. Boog couldn't walk in to see what was going on. If her dad caught him trying to sneak inside, he be in trouble for sure. He quietly sneaks from the back and peeks inside the window. He saw an upsetful Nadine packing her things inside a bag as she was crying.
"Hey are you all right? What happen back there?" Boog asked sadly. "Nothing." Said Nadine, wiping the tears from her red sad face. "My dad grounded me. I can't take this any longer. I'm moving out!"
"But...won't your dad get upset if he finds out you're gone?" "No......I didn't told him what happen. I gave him the best excuse I can think of and he....he......" "Hit you?" Boog gussed. Nadine nodded. She finish packing her things and sneaks out from the bedroom leaving. Boog follows. "Nadine wait! You can't stay out here!" "Why not?! "Because...." Boog tries to explain. "The animals don't trust newcomers that well....if they see you, they're gonna think you're a hunter." "What's the big deal? I can care of myself!" Said Nadine. "Nay......Elliot told me what happen when he first met you. If you get hurt, Elliot and I aren't gonna forgive ourselves." Nadine stop in her tracks, staring at the ground. Boog made a point there.....after what happen with her first encounter with McSquizzy that day she met Elliot. "You're right." She said, turning back looking him in the eye face to face again. "I'm staying with you." "What?! Geez....you're more craizer than Elliot! Are you serious?" Said Boog. "Boog...I don't have anywhere else to go....you and Elliot are the only ones I can trust."
Boog thought she was right. If she stay longer with her dad, she'll be more upset than ever. The problem was.....hiding in another place. Without the cabin, Elliot and Boog wouldn't have anyplace to go....not with Shaw looking out to kill them. "You're right.....okay but here's the deal.......we have to find a good hiding place. We can camp out here if you like, but we need a cave or something to hide if Shaw comes looking for us again. Deal?"
"Don't worry Boog. I'll protect you guys from any harm." She said. "And just how do you plan on doing that? You don't even carry a gun." Asked Boog, confused. "I'm a human, aren't I? Animals are scare of humans." Nadine pointed out. Before Boog said another word to Nadine, Elliot slowly came to wakening. "Hubbada, hubbada, hubbada........" His groggy voice murmured. Nadine and Boog stare at the bumbling deer. They were relived to see he was okay.
"You all right Elliot?" Asked Boog. Elliot stared, his eyes look froggy like he didn't had enough sleep for the night. "I feel light-headed.....wha.....what happened?" He asked. He look at his messy self. "Why do I smell like yak butter?"
"Long story. We're so glad to see you're okay." Nadine said, taking Elliot from Boog's arms and holding him. She gave him a gentle hug...her hand slowly moving up and down his back. Elliot's eyes grew wide, his cheeks blush. He smiles grinly with a silly smirk on his face. He didn't know what was going on, but was happy to see Nadine caring for him in this nice heart-warming hug. "Tell me I'm dreaming....." He said to himself, enjoying the hug. It was the best hug he gotten from anyone, especially from a girl.
